The car rolled to a stop in front of a two story house. The sun shined through the tree tops of the giant oak trees in the front yard. "You can get out, you know," Mrs. Pendery, aka Lisa, said in a joking way. I fake smiled back, then stepped out of the car.

I stood there for a second, taking in the warm, California air. Warm air was something I wasn't used to, since I'm from Alaska. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. 'If she's from Alaska, what's she doing in California?' Los Angeles, to be exact.

But my mom had to go help a sick relative in England, and my dad is always working. I don't even know where he works! Sad, isn't it? Well, anyways, my mom's old high school friend heard about the situation and said I could come live with them for a while. And, well, here I am.

I took my black suitcase and white duffle bag from the trunk, and carried it towards the door, while Lisa carried in my other suitcase. I waited at the front door for her to unlock it. When she did, we walked in together.

I looked back at her, waiting for instructions. She gave me a smile, then called for someone named Cole. While we waited for whoever Cole was, I looked around the house. It was big, two stores high. The living room had brown carpeted floors, and white walls. There were two black couches on both sides of the coffee table, and one love seat facing the flat screen TV on the wall.

To my left were wooden stairs, and another door that probably led to a bathroom or something. At the end of the stairs was yet another door, but I could see in this one. It was the kitchen, and all I could see was a snack bar, the fridge, and the stove.

A boy blocked my view from the rest of the house. I blinked and took a step back. Lisa rested her hands on my shoulders. "Jasmine, this is my son, Cole. Cole, this is Jasmine. Do you mind showing her to her room?"

"Yeah, sure," Cole answered. I followed him up the stairs. When we were at the top of the stairs, he guided me down the hallway to the last door on the right. When I walked in, I dropped my bags in surprise.

The room was paint a light shade of purple, which is my favorite color, and had a large, Queen sized bed. There were some white shelves against the back wall, right under a window, and a white dresser across from my bed.

"I'll let you get settled," Cole said. He flashed me a smile, then left. I picked up my bags and carried them over to the bed. I unzipped one of the suitcases and began to unpack.

First, I unpacked my normal clothes. I would probably have to go shopping, because my clothes were meant for Alaska weather, not Los Angeles. Note to self, ask Lisa about it later.

After I was done putting my clothes away in the drawls of the dresser, I walked back over to my duffle bag and unzipped it. Inside was my babies, the things I couldn't live without, even though I think I'll have to.

I had two pairs of skates, both snow white with a silver blade. One pair I've had since I was five, since I first learned how to ice skate. Whenever my dad would come home, he'd take me out to the frozen pond behind our house and teach me. Since that first time on the ice, I've won tons of trophies and ribbons.

The second was a pair my mom had bought me for my last birthday. They were still new and in the processing of being broken in, but I loved them still.

I sat the skates on my bed and pulled out my three gowns I worn in competition. One was green and black, one was baby blue, and one was fiery red. I hung them up in the closet then sat down on my bed.

Maybe living here will be good. Sure, it's a pause on my dream to become a professional skater, and maybe I don't know anyone here, but maybe it'll at work out in the end.

After all, this is Los Angeles, the city where dreams come true.

So this is the Will story. This is different than my other stories, I don't know much about ice skating, so bear with me.
