"So, what are you gonna do?"

I looked over at Hilary with sad eyes. What was I going to do? This is the hardest decision I have ever had to make. I don't want her to be mad, but I don't want to lose something that's very valuable to me.

I took a deep breath. Why did it have to come to this? Why can't we just go to the park, or the beach, or something other than this?

"I'm waiting," Hil said, impatiently tapping her fingers against the table. Shaking my head, I sighed and slid my card across the table. She snatched it up and smirked. "Your turn!"

"Got any sevens?"

Her smirk remained on her face as she said the words, "Go fish!"

I huffed and drew a card from the deck. "Cheater," I muttered, looking through my cards. She laughed and spread her cards out in her fingers. "This is so boring, and not fun since you're cheating! Lets go explore the city!"

Her eyes darted to the digital clock next to the bed. It read 10:30 PM. This is probably not the best time to go explore the city, but she is only here for the weekend.

"Fine," she said, standing from the small table in front of the two beds. After we both had our shoes on, we headed out the door and down the hall.

Right as the doors began to close in the elevator, two boys rushed in. I jumped closer to Hil and looked the boys over. They were wearing baggy pants and ripped shirts. Hanging out of their mouths were cigarettes. I resisted the urge to gag.

"Hey pretty ladies," one of them purred, stepping closer to me and petting my hair. I looked over at Hil, who looked creeped out and disgusted. "Where are you two going?"

I slapped his hand away. "None of your business. And keep your hands off me. Ever heard of personal space?" The two teenagers chuckled.

"Fiesty. I like her," the one who just had his hand on me said, smirking. "You can have the other one, Scott." The elevator dinged, and the doors opened. Quickly, we bolted past the two boys and ran through the lobby.

"They're right behind us!" Hil cried in a panicked tone. I looked over my shoulder just as someone grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I don't think Hil noticed that I had been caught, since she just ran out of the building.

"Let me go!" I yelled, trying to get out of his grip. "Rape! Help!" The man slapped a dirty hand over my mouth and held me close to him.

"Shhhhhhh," he whispered. "Don't struggle, or this will be worse for you." With the help of Scott, they both walked me out of the building. I looked around the empty street, and almost cried when I saw Hilary was gone.

"Bill! Look out!" Scott yelled to his friend, Bill. I screamed when Bill was suddenly hit over his head and I was free.

"Leave my best friend alone!" Hilary yelled, swinging whatever she had found for a weapon at Scott. I ducked as, what I think was a pipe, came towards me and nailed Scott in the head. He fell to the ground, just like Bill.

I stood up straight and stared at Hil. "Oh my god, I thought you left me!" I exclaimed, pulling her into a hug.

"And leave my best friend to get raped? I'm offended you would think I would do that. By the way, I got us a ride and we're going back to Cole's. C'mon, Will's just around the corner." She grabbed my hand and dragged me down the street.

"You bitches!" someone suddenly bellowed from behind us. We both slowed to a stop just as we reached the corner and looked behind us. Bill was running towards us at full speed.

My eyes widened as Bill grabbed Hil instead of me this time, and jerked her to the ground. I watched in horror as he stood over her, smirking. I wasn't like her, I couldn't just pick up a pipe and whack someone in the head, even if my best friend was about to get raped.

Luckily, though, I didn't have too.

"Hey asshole," Will said, shocking me. I didn't think I would ever hear a curse word leave his lips. I looked to my left at him, but he had his eyes trained on the pervert. "Get the hell off of her."

Bill stepped away from Hil, and smirked at Will. "You want her all to yourself? Go ahead." HIs eyes flickered to me. "I've got my own." When he tried to step towards me, Will protectively guarded me, making a wall between me and Bill.

"Don't touch her," Will hissed. This was a side of Will I've never seen. I thought he was this innocent seventeen year old who loved food and music, but I guess any boy can be threatening if you make them angry enough.

"Hilary," I said when she had finally climbed to her feet and rushed over to me. I looked back at Will, and gently tugged his arm. "Will, lets just go."

"Go wait in the car, Jaz," he said, not taking his eyes off Bill. I didn't question him, or try to argue. Without even looking at each other, Hil and I walked down the street to the car. When we reached it, I pulled my phone out and called Cole.

After two rings, he picked up. "Hey Jaz."

"Hey, did Will tell you we're coming over?"

"No... Will hasn't even been here yet. He was on his way over, but then he said something came up and he'd be a little late. ...... Did something happen?"

I bit my lip. "Sort of.... It's a long story I'll explain later. We're just waiting for-" I was cut off by Hilary gasping. I looked in the direction Will was just standing, and saw him fall to the ground. My eyes widened. "Will!" I yelled.

"Jaz?! Jasmine! What happened?!" Cole asked frantically as Hil and I bolted down the sidewalk to Will. When we finally reached him, I saw that Bill was gone and Will had a black eye and a bloody lip.

"Is he knocked out?" I asked. Hil sighed.

"Yeah. We better get him back to Cole's." I stared at her.

"How are we supposed to get him back to Cole's? We probably can't even get him in the car."

"Where are you guys at?" Cole asked. "We can come pick you up." I looked up and down the street, and sighed.

"I can't see a street name, it's too dark. But we'll try and get Will back to the house, okay? I'll call you if we have anymore trouble." I hung up the phone and slipped it back in my pocket, then bent down and grabbed Will's hand.

When Hil grabbed his other hand, I took a deep breath and counted from one. "One... Two.... Three." Somehow, we both managed to pull Will off the ground and drag him back to the car.

"That wasn't so hard," Hil said as she slid into the back and shut the door. I sat in the driver's seat, and Will was beside me, still knocked out. I sighed and stared at him for a second. She laughed. "His keys are in one of his front pockets, I believe."

I rolled my eyes and reached towards the pocket closest to me. As weird a situation it is, I reached into his pocket and grabbed his keys. Hilary was laughing at me the whole time.

"Ouch," Dana commented when Cole and Gabe dragged Will into the house. I sighed and looked at Will helpelessly. He was trying to protect us, and he got himself hurt. Still, with a black eye and bloody lip, his face still looked... Perfect.

"Hey," Dalton said softly, nudging me with shoulder, "don't look at Will like that. He's okay, trust me. He's a blackbelt, more damage was probably done to that guy than there was to Will." I bit my lip.

"If we hadn't decided to leave the hotel room he would have never gotten hurt," I muttered, looking away. Dalton shrugged.

"Yeah, maybe. But at least you learned something tonight." I scoffed and shook my head.

"That anyone can get hurt and it would be my fault?" I looked over at him.

Dalton frowned. "No. It wasn't your fault, anyways. What you learned is.... William will do anything to protect the people he cares about."
