Chapter 16

Amy didn't know where this was going.

"Yes?" said Amy.

"First, thanks for coming. I had an amazing night with you the other day."

"Um, yea. No problem."said Amy.

"Look, everything that happened, it was all a lie. Remember when you
hurt me? Do you know how I felt when I found out you slept with Ej after we broke up?
And then I find out, you did it while you were with Ty."

"Um..." This all came as a shock to Amy. She didn't know what was going on.

"I wanted to hurt you as much as you hurt me." said Chad.

"I wanted you to beg and beg and then me break your heart. And that's exactly what you did.
All night long you begged over and over and over again for me to keep making love to you."

"Chad what are you talking ab-"

"Amy, I got exactly what I wanted."

"You said you loved me." said Amy.

"You said that you only came back here to get me back."

"Please, I only came back here to hurt you. To make you feel the way I did."said Chad.

"I risked everything. I cheated on my husband and I even kissed you in my barn while everyone was home."

Amy was trying not to cry but she shed a tear.

Ty heard all of it. He had his fist in his mouth leaning up against the wall.

"How could you?" Amy said as her voice cracked.

"You know what, you should probably leave before things get worse." said Chad.

Ty left quickly and drove off right after that. Amy walked out of the garden and went to get in her car.

Chad almost fell over and instead caught himself on a chair.

"What the hell did you just do?"

Amy cried in her car for 10 minutes.

She then decided to go to see her mom.

"I wish you were here right now."

Amy was sitting at her moms grave saying over and over again, "I wish you were here. I wish you were here."

"I am here sweetie."

Amy turned around to see her mom standing right behind her.

"I've always been here, and I always will be"

Amy woke up.

"Mom! Mom!"

"Amy! Is everything okay?"

Lou stormed in and grabbed Amy.

Amy was breathing heavily.

"Amy take deep breathes."

"I saw Mom."

Lou just sat there holding Amy.

"Shh. Everything is going to be okay."

"What the hell did you just do?"

Chad turned around to see his dad.

"I did what I had to do."

"And that was to drive her away?"

"I used her to get what I wanted, and that's exactly what I got-"

"You damn fool. You only did it to protect her from me."

Chad just looked at him and didn't say anything.

Ty went home and sat at his trailer. He tried to get some sleep, but it didn't work.

Amy called Ty in the morning to see if he could get her some medicine for a clients horse.

He didn't answer so she just sat in bed all day.

At around 12, she got a call.

"Hello, Amy Fleming?"

"Yes, who is this?"
