*Bridget's POV*
I had walked about half a mile and my feet were just about frozen. My entire body felt like it could shut down at any moment. Why did I think it was a good idea to even step out of the house in just a hoodie and leggings with Uggs? I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and my heart jumped at the thought of it being Ronnie calling. To my disappointment, it was a random number. I slid my phone back into my pocket only for it to vibrate again. Frustrated, I picked up the call without checking the caller ID.
"What?!" I answered.
"Whoa, what's up your butt?" Laughed Calum. I sighed while shivering and rolled my eyes.
"Ice, probably."
"What do you mean? Why is your voice shaking?
"I've been walking in the freezing cold for like a half hour only to get like half a mile from the apartment and I'm cold and I don't know what to do. I'm too tired to walk back to the apartment, oh my god, I regret this."
"Jesus Christ, Bridget." I heard ruffling on his end of the phone. "I'm on my way to get you."
"No! You live too far."
"I'm at Ronnie's place. I'll be there in like five to ten minutes, okay?" I nodded but then I realized he couldn't see me. Great going, Bridget.
"Okay." I hung up and put my phone and hands back in my pockets.
I considered sitting on the ground but realized I'd only become more cold from that and end up getting soaking wet, so I stood on the side of the road, shivering and numb from the cold. After a few minutes, I saw a black BMW driving towards me and it stopped right in front of me. Calum stepped out of the driver's seat and rushed over to me, almost slipping on the way.
"Fuck, Bridget, you look like a tomato." He gently helped me inside the car and put my seatbelt on for me.
"I'm cold, not 5."
"I know. If you were 5, you wouldn't be in the passenger seat." I rolled my eyes and he walked around the car to get into his seat.
"I'm so glad you called," I said as we started pulling away from the side of the road.
"It's alright. I was just calling to ask why you weren't in any of your classes with Ronnie today."
"Oh..."
"You can't avoid him like that. You know he cares about you." I bit my lip and tried to change the subject.
"Yeah. What about you? Who do you care about?"
"Someone. But back to you. You're gonna talk to Ronnie. Today."
"What are you-" Then I realized where he was taking me; the bar. "Calum no!"
"Calum yes! You have to stop being so childish about this. You two have to have a civilized conversation."
"Calum, I know what I have to do. I'm just having a hard time doing it."
"Breaking up with Tyler?"
"Yeah, that," I muttered as I leaned my head against the window.
"Why is it so difficult? You have no reason to stay in that relationship besides the stupid avoiding your family thing."
"Yeah, that. I don't know, I'm comfortable with Tyler. It's easier than the fucking rollercoaster it is with Ronnie.
"Just because it's easier doesn't mean it's better." I stayed silent. I knew he was right, but I didn't want to admit it.
