Since childhood, he always knew how to help. Whether it be family members, friends or anyone who needed assisstance given. Advice, volunteer work, helping someone in the slightest way - He was on it. He always liked the feeling of doing things for other people, even if some of those people hurt him. Use him.
He grew up in Seattle and moved to Detroit in his early adult years to start his business. The Detroit DAR (Drug Addiction Rehabilitation centre). He had dreamed of opening a self-owned workplace since junior high, and persued his dream in university by taking an apprentiship course and learning in business skills.
He had never taken an interest in helping drug addicts until his late father became one, dying at an early age of 40. He was surprised his father had made it that far along. He had seen the side effects of drug abuse and knew the troubles it caused. His father got physically and verbally abusive towards him and his sick mother - who was suffering and possibly losing her fight with cancer- and he knew he had to do something about it.
The most vivid thing he remembers about his father at the time was that he stopped using drugs. At least when they were around. Everything seemed fine. But one day, he and his mother went out for the day when he was on holidays from his first year of university. They came home later that day to find him dead, passed out with a heorine needle stabbed into his grungy, dirt coloured arm.
That was the day that his life changed. He had to work two jobs to support his mother, but it wasn't enough. They took his mother away to a nursery home, which would give her 24/7 care. She was only 42. He knew that if this is what drugs did to people, that no one would ever or should ever go through what he had to face. And so began his business.
But.. Soon enough, he's going to face his biggest challenge yet. Eric didn't know what was going to hit him once his sky became filled with diamonds.
