Joined By Secrets

Prologue:

"I'm sorry, you don't understand. You don't know how much it hurts me too. But I have to do this as a promise for someone." I bit my lip to hold back the tears.

"Then help me understand", I fought to keep my voice in control. "All I see is betrayal and hur-" I was cut off by him.

"Please,if you give me time I will explain. Just don't lose hope on me, stay with me", I saw in his eyes the desperation of his words.

I slowly shook my head, If you love her, you go with her. If you want me, then you can have me. But you can't have it both ways. Life is about making choices, sometimes ones we don't want to but have to. I'm sorry, but I won't sit around waiting for you to choose her over me."

I turned and slowly walked away, hoping that maybe he would go after me. A sign to show me I had a small place in his heart for me. That I was worthy enough to go after.

I rounded the corner........

I sat leaning on the wall of that corner watching the sunset. I waited there all day for him.

I finally got up and left. So this is how heartbreak feels like.

I was right all along, love is only weakness and the person I can truly trust is myself.
