DYLAN'S POV:
I woke up from an amazing date with Bree. I knew I needed to make it up to her for keeping our relationship a secret. I knew it wasn't fair, I'm a jerk.
I made myself breakfast and got ready for work. When I was about to leave the house, my cell rang. The caller ID was private.
"Hello?"
A females voice began screaming into my ear:
"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? DOING THAT TO HER! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU AR"
I cut her off: "Sara?"
"YOU'RE DAMNRIGHT IT'S SARA!"
"Why are you yelling at me?"
I heard her breathing calm slightly. "Can you meet me at Goldy's Café on fifth? We need to talk."
I agreed and called into the office that I would be a little late.
I walked into the café and spotted Sara waving her hand to me. Her face was flushed with anger. What did I do? Where's Bree?
"Did you know what I did all night? I stayed up with my best friend while she cried! She is an amazing woman and ANY man would be lucky to have her. Any man who cared for her would show her off to the world."
"I don't know if you're lying about the family thing or not. She seems to believe you, but I'm not so sure yet. This happened before in high school, senior year.
Damien was his name. He told Bree that their relationship had to be a secret because he had to focus on school.
In reality, he was cheating on five girls at once. According to him, Bree was lucky because he kept her the longest. She was fun, he wasn't as bored with her as the rest. I will never regret the day I kicked him in the balls so hard he lost a ball!
If you ever hurt Bree, I won't hesitate to kick you in your crown jewels. She may seem tough but she's also been hurt a lot. I didn't mean to yell before but I hate it when my best friend cries."
I took a minute to process this information. Is that why she was hesitant to trust me when I told her?
I felt like a dick, I needed to talk to her.
"Thanks for telling me. I owe you!" We said our goodbyes and I was headed for Bree's office when I got called into an urgent meeting.
Tonight I would make it up to her. The day dragged on as I thought of ways to surprise Bree. I texted her and with a lot of begging, she finally agreed to have a formal dinner with me.
I kept thinking about Damien and how if I ever met that guy I would strangle him. Bree didn't deserve pain. Sara didn't need to tell me Bree was special because I already knew that.
I just hope it was too late to show her I would never be like Damien. I would never disrespect any girl like that.
After work, I went home to change into a tux and bought red roses from the florist. When I saw Bree she took my breath away. She wore a strapless royal blue satin dress that stopped mid thigh.
"You look amazing............."
