I woke up with a text from Dylan saying we needed to talk. I was scared he thought his mom was right and would break up with. I texted back asking when. He said he wanted to take me to the fair that was open only this weekend.

I got ready and said goodbye to Sara who had one more day of bed rest. I walked across the street to his car and got in. The drive to the fair was silent, I was dreading when he would say the words that would break me.

The car reached a stop, he climbed out fast and walked to my side to open the door. I was greeted with a warm smile from him. Maybe everything would be okay......

"I'll go get the admission tickets.", Dylan stated. "No it's okay. Ill get them."

He looked at me oddly and his face revealed hurt. "I know you don't like me for my money. You don't have to prove it. Just let me pay for you." He cupped my face with his hands and leaned down for a gentle sweet kiss.

This weight that I didn't know was there seemed to lift off of me. I knew he wouldn't believe what his mom said about me but I was sure. This proved that I was right. I felt relieved.

We reached the food stands and we found an empty table. We sat across from each other and he grasped both my hands. " I like you a lot and I don't want to mess up what we have but we have to kept this relationship a secret."

I opened my mouth to respond, but he held up his hand. "Can I explain first? My family is under a lot of stress right now and they're not really accepting of people at this moment. I know my mother didn't mean the things she said to you. They just need to space to mourn."

"I can understand if you don't want to see me again. But once everything has calmed down I would love to introduce you to my family." He smiled nervously. I could see the truth in his eyes.

I nodded in understanding but didn't say anything. He sighed in relief. We decided to go on some dollar coasters before eating. My mood got better throughout the day.

We played some carnival games and he won me a fluffy stuffed baby blue dolphin. "That's a little cliché don't ya think?"

He shrugged and dragged me towards the lovers unite water ride. I giggled to myself, now that's cliché. We sat on a heart shaped lily pad and we floated calmly through gentle waters.

Dylan turned to face me and stared at me. I looked back at him and blushed slightly. "You're so beautiful", he whispered.

I shook my head and rested it on his chest. Once it was over, we headed back to the food stands and got a funnel cake and pizza.

We walked around the fair again and laughed at the sights we saw. There was a fat man getting ice cream when someone bumped into him and it fell on his large stomach. That didn't stop him from eating it off himself.

Then we saw a little girl throwing a temper tantrum when her mom wouldn't let her go on the rides anymore. As we passed, Dylan mimicked her with a high pitched voice.

We were cracking up about everything. We stayed to see the fireworks and took pictures to remember a fun day.

When we got back to my apartment, I was exhausted. He carried my dolphin upstairs for me. His arm slipped around my face to pull me closer. He tongue skillfully slipped into my mouth, our lips moving in sync.

It was a perfect kiss to end a perfect day. We said our goodbyes and I headed in. I tried my hardest not to think about him but I suppressed it all day. Sara was in the kitchen when I walked in. She saw my face and knew something was wrong.

I crumbled and breathed one name........

Damien.
