PRIDE: As I Watch Our Flower Grow

With a smile and immense pride
That is so wide it is hard to hide
I watch our flower grow
Not in a row upon row,
But in a singular plot
In a bed of roses and forget-me-nots.

I marvel at her beauty.
Each day and night, I thrive to keep her warm
I thrive to keep her from harm.
I keep on a light
To reduce the dark at night

My crystalline flower was not made of glass
But of stuff craved by the upper class.
My sparkling diamond is so bright
Her eyes reflects the light
And twinkles as they reflects the firelight.

As you grow and you bloom
With grace and charm
And a smile that is beautiful and warm
You fill the room.

My flower grows in a singular plot
In a bed of roses and forget-me-nots.
