ENRAPTURED: Away To the Dusk

Away to the dusk
We fly to alight on the blacken husk.
With iridescence ebony fluttering wings
We are hidden from preying eyes
But are harmed by the lingering lies.

Away to the dawn
We fly to alight on whitewashed walls
Along scone lit halls
To orbit your sphere of light
That illuminates the blacken night.

Away to the dusk
Away to the dawn
Your radiance keeps us warm.
Reflected in your eyes was the sunshine,
The warmth we hoped to find.

Away to the dawn
The radiance that keep us warm.
We fly to the beacon that is your flame.
Those of us who you embrace
Are laid to waste.

But who are we to resist ?
So strong is the urge to be kissed.
Who can be blamed
When all who alight are never the same.

Now that your flame is extinguished.
No longer are we enraptured.
No longer are we emotionally captured.

Away to the dawn
Away to the dusk
We fly to alight on the blacken husk.
