We had dinner without Dany. Brooklyn sat on her rocking chair and watched TV while I was reading a book I had found on the bookshelf. I heard someone entering the door but I didn't bother to see who it was. It was 11 in the evening and Dany had just came. "Hey granny." Dany walked to Brooklyn and gave her a kiss on her forehead. "Hey Ames." Dany waved his hand. I couldn't help do anything but smile.
"Amy could you get Dany his dinner he must be starving." Brooklyn requested. And I run into the kitchen to serve him dinner. I placed it on his table and sat down to continue reading my book. Dany ducked his head and started stuffing himself. It was so quite and the TV was on low volume. "Had a rough day Dany? I guess you had to work a bit late today." Brooklyn broke the silence. I tried to concentrate on my reading but something is making me feel unease. Neither of us said anything. Next morning Brooklyn promised to take me to Gillingham and Malvern's grave.
Dany woke up and came downstairs to have his breakfast. He rushed down and grabbed waffles and run into his car. And yet again he didn't say anything. Brooklyn and I dressed up and went out.
Brooklyn stepped towards the grave making her prayers and burst into tears. As I watched her from behind I couldn't fight the tears rolling down from my eyes. I made a silent prayer. "Nana you sure that Gillingham's death was just a coincidental car accident?" I asked her as I start to feel skeptical about this whole scenario. "Well that's how the police reported it as I guess it is true. But what is it that you are trying to say?" Brooklyn asked in a perplexed manner. "Ahhh oh no reason actually but ummm which police station?" I asked out of curiosity. "The one in your home town dear you know... near 'Garden Bakery'". She noted.
We walked for a bit longer and went back home to get a nap. The sun was scorching hot and we had nothing better to do than taking a nap. I woke up and opened the window of my bedroom and stared across what was visible. I had actually sank in a deep thought. I guess I should go back and see the police reports myself. Ahhhh I swear something doesn't feel right. I told myself. I walk downstairs and found Brooklyn looking at pictures of Gillingham. I came close and sat right beside her at the dinning table. I could see her smile just looking at the pictures. I walked towards her and gave her a tight squeeze (hug).
"Nana I'm gonna go for a walk. Be right back!" I yelled. I walked through the verandah and found Dany parking his car right infront of me. I quickly run back into the house and went into my room. I started feeling so anxious around him after what had happened last time. "Amy!......Amy!" Brooklyn called. I run down and went into the room Brooklyn was in. "Yes, Nana?"
"Didn't you say you were talking a walk and why were you sprinting like you had seen a ghost?"
"Daniel, Amy did you guys have a fight?"
"No!" We both yelled at the same time. And glanced at eachother with a surprised look. "I could sense that something has gone wrong with you two. It better not be something bad."
My heart skipped a beat and I thought I was being interrogated where I wasn't given the slightest chance to even breathe. Ahhhhhh! I sighed. I went into my room and thought for awhile. Next morning I had helped Brooklyn with the chores and sent her off going to relatives place. I went to the park nearby and told Daniel to meet me there.
