Chapter six
Honestly speaking there's always this time that I forget my problems and everything about mom that had bothered me. I've always felt relieved and free when I'm with Dany. Something about him makes me happy and I feel like I should trust him. It all feels like my deep wound has been healed just when I look at him smile.
After the big finale (a kiss on my forehead). We both stared at each other for a minute and I literally could feel my breathe getting heavier from the nervousness. Snap out of it! I told myself. "Ummm I think we should head back home." I suggested. "Yeah su... sure". Dany agreed.
When we reached home Dany helped carry the groceries to the kitchen. As I was determined to make today's dinner I started making pasta with cream sauce, my favorite. "Ohhh there you are dear I thought you and Dany were gonna stay out for a while, you came early." Brooklyn said as she walked to towards the kitchen. "Did you guys have fun?" Right then Dany and I looked at eachother and smiled. "Give me that I'll help .""No please I insist." I told her to rest on the couch while I made dinner.
I served the dinner on the dining table and we all gathered up to eat. "Looks good and smells good too." Dany complimented. "Mmmmm so good. If I knew you were this good I would have asked you to make dinner everyday." Brooklyn said as she chows down the pasta.
We all cleaned up and went to bed. I packed everything, well its not like I have a lot of stuff anyway but I did shop a little while I was here.
The next morning I felt someone patting my head. I opened one eye half asleep to see Brooklyn. Her eyes were fixed on mine, flashing her smile as she patted my head over and over again. "So you're leaving huh?" She asked. And I nodded.I had finished eating breakfast and came to say goodbyes. I gave Brooklyn a hug. Then I went upstairs into Dany's room to say goodbyes. I knocked on the door and went into his room. "Dany...Dany." I called out loud but there was no answer. So I stepped into the room and looked into his bed if he was sleeping, he wasn't there. Right when I stepped back I saw pictures which I had accidentally stepped on. I picked them up right away and wiped them with my hand and took a look out of curiosity. There was a picture of a little kid on a bike. "Looks alot like Dany." I murmured to myself. As I turned to the second picture I froze "No way! How? I must be wrong, but he looks so much like..." Before I could finish the sentence Dany showed up. "Sorry I had to run errands early today, you came to say goodbye?" I literally couldn't move a muscle I froze as I stared at Dany. "You okay? You don't look so good." Dany asked walking towards me and holding me as a staggered. I pointed out to the man in the second picture and asked " Who is this guy?". "Dany looked at me in the eye he knew something wasn't right he paused for few seconds.
"This guy used to be my dad's closest friend."
"Do you perhaps know him, Amy?"
"What is his name?" I asked.
"Douglas McCartney, do you know him?"
"Did you say Douglas McCartney as in the owner of Grand Dawn Hotel?"
"Yeah but he's a former, now the hotel is run by Mr.Nathan from the EFS incorporation."
Ohhhh what's going on how had I not known about this. I thought for a while. "What's taking you so long dear? Oh oh my what happen? Why are you breaking a coldsweat?" Brooklyn rushed on toward me as soon as she saw me. She went downstairs and brought a soaked towel and placed it on my forehead. I had lied down on Dany's bed and had said nothing for half an hour trying to interpret what I saw in a way that I can understand.I open my eyes to see that time has already passed and its 4 in the evening. I walked downstairs and saw Dany and Brooklyn having a serious talk. They went quite as soon as they saw me. "Are you okay honey?" Brooklyn placed her hand on my head to check my temperature. I went straight where Dany was and sat beside him, looking at him without a blink.
