I sat in the hospital, I hoped that the next time I would have seen this place, would be when I gave birth to my first child,
But no,
the last time I was in here it was for my mom, now it was for somebody else that I cared about.
I looked at the clock on the wall, that empty feeling coming back. The one that Angel had fought a long time to make go away, he had taken my sadness and my hollow feeling and had given me new hope.
And now he is laid on a bed, probably dead or dying. And here I am unscathed yet again, it was because I ran from them that they got hurt.
The nurse came out of the room Angel was in and I looked at her,
"Are you here for Angel Santorro?" I nodded my head, licked my lips and swallowed,
"Is he dead?" I asked, my voice hoarse and devoid of hope, from the screaming and uncried tears.
"No, he's in a slight coma from the amount of shock his body is in, he will be transport back to his family in California as soon as he is stabilized," she said, I looked at her,
I'm sure I looked like a ghost... there but not really.
"Can I see him?" I croaked, looking up at her,
"Family only," she said shaking her head, I looked back down at the ground, staring blankly, "But, for you Ms. Jackson, I'll make an exception," I looked back up at her,
I've been to this hospital so often that the nursing staff knew me by name...
What does that say about me?
I got up and dragged my feet when I entered the room, I though I was gunna be sick.
He looked wrecked, everything was in a cast or deformed and his face was busted up really good too,
I walked up to where his head was and I slowly moved his hair out of his face,
I almost lost it.-
I laid in my bed facing Angel, the sun was casting a yellowish glow over the room as I watched him sleep. I moved the hair out of his eyes, he opened an eye and looked at me,
"It's a bit weird to watch people sleep, you know that right," I pretended to be offended as I took a pillow and smacked him with it, he groaned at the impact which caused me to laugh, his arms shot out and grabbed me by the waist dragging me to him, I kept laughing as he tickled me,
"No please stop!" I said through my tears of laughter, eventually we both calmed down as we both faced the sun coming up, and it was beautiful.
He kissed my shoulder and I snuggled in closer to him, I sighed as the both of us watched the sunrise.
"It's so beautiful," I said,
"You're beautiful," he responded, I gave him a playful swat to the shoulder, he chuckled and it became quiet again, his had snaked into mine and he intertwined our fingers, I laid and watched as he played with our fingers.
"I wish that this would never end," I said, I heard him sigh.
"Well eventually one of us is gunna have to pee," I rolled my eyes and looked back at him, I rolled over so that I was straddling over his waist looking at him, I put his face in my hands as he had his on my waist.
"I mean us," I said, "I love you Angel, you know that right?" He took one of his hands off of my waist and on top of my hand, moving it so he could place a kiss on my palm while staring at me.
"And I love you, and that will never change for me Presley," he said, pulling me down, I gave shocked little laugh as he kissed me and I let myself get lost in him.
-
I blinked back the tears as I held his broken face in my hands, I turned and sat on the chair next to his bed and picked up the guitar that was amongst the piles of his things that were to be shipped out with him.
"Hey, I know you probably can't hear this cause you're all hopped up on drugs and paralyzed with pain and everything but um I wrote this song a long time ago when I left you the first time and came back to Ohio. So I um, I thought that I would be playing this song for an entirely different reason but um, I guess things never work out the way you plan right?" I gave an nervous laugh then took a deep breath, "anyways, here it goes,"
He said, "Let's get out of this town,
Drive out of the city, away from the crowds."
I thought heaven can't help me now.
Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me downHe's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins
My one condition isSay you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress,
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
Wildest dreams, ah-ha ohh,
Wildest dreams, ah-ha ohh.I said, "No one has to know what we do, "
His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room
And his voice is a familiar sound,
Nothing lasts forever but this is getting good nowHe's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
And when we've had our very last kiss
My last request it isSay you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress,
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
Wildest dreams, ah-ha ohh,
Wildest dreams, ah-ha ohh.You see me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burning it down
Someday when you leave me
I bet these memories
Follow you aroundSee me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burning it down
Someday when you leave me
I bet these memories
Follow you aroundSay you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress,
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks

Standing in a nice dress,

Wildest dreams, ah-ha ohh
In your wildest dreams, ah-ha ohhI wiped the corner of my eyes and let out a shaky breath of air, I saw his hand twitch, I immediately set the guitar down and took his hand.
I looked at him, and his eyes remained shut, to swollen to open I suppose, so I leaned down over him and kissed the corner of his mouth, and held his hand until the nurses came back.
I don't think I will ever be the same, an Angel has changed my life,
I just didn't realize how much until it was too late.
