Introduction: Ivy JoAnn Moor

Hi, I am Ivy Joann Moor. I'm 22 years old but let's just say that when I was youger I wasn't normal. I didn't talk very much aside from a few words. The only person I talked to was my best friend Hailey Carson. I used to know Ryan Follese but I don't think he'll remember me. This is how it all began...

Chapter One

When I met him

*flashback to when Ivy was 13 and Hailey was 12 and Ryan was 17*

"I'm going to bed," I said.

"It's only 10:30 on a Friday," Mom said back.

"Early to bed and early to rise kepps a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." I climbed the stair into my room but I didn't get into bed. Instead, i grabbed a notebook and pen and climbed out my window onto the roof. I wrote a message to the world and let it blow away in the breeze. I counted the stars and went back into my room at 11:32. Not bad. Thn I slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next day was Saturday but I got up at 6:00 in the morning. i climbed onto the roof with

my head down and hood up like always. I never ever am seen without my hood on. I don't

know why. I jumped off, it was only a few dfew meters, and landed on my feet. Then I ran. I didn't want to run too log, just for a little while. While I was running, I ran into someone. The

contact made me run faster but for some reason, I looked back. there was a young man

standing there, staring at me. One part of me said stranger danger but the other part of me

said it was okay. He had a hood on so i couldn't see his face. I didn't listen to either voice

but rather kept running. I got a text from hailey telling me to meet her at the mowhawk. It

was our name for a clump of trees. I met her there.

"I met someone..." I told her. "I think he was like me."

"what's his name?" she asked.

I frowned, "no idea."

"Well maybe y-" she was cut off by my phone ringing. I checked the Caller ID. It was my mother.

"What?"

"Your Aunt Emily from Texas is here"

I didn't respond. I clicked end and told Hailey I had to go. Then I ran all the way home. I got there and Aunt Emily greeted me with a hug. I didn't hug back. I just stood there in my hood. She looked at me, "why don't you speak?"

"A man of few words will never have his words used against him."

"Well you've gotten so big"

"That tends to happen when you haven't seen me in two years. But if I stoodcomplety still for all that time I would look exactly the same."

She frowned "then I better stop moving before I catch up with my years." everyone except me laughed. I just looked at her and then ran out the door. As I was running I ran into him again.

This time he whispered something to me, "Three times."

I knew what he meant. If we meet three times then we will talk. I went for the rest of my run the returned home at 3:00 pm. Mom was making dinner and Dad and Aunt Emily were talking. They didn't know I was back. I slipped upstairs and texted Hailey.

'Im so done with these people' I told her.

'They can't be that bad'

'youre right. They're worse they don't understand me'

'they're family. What can I say?'

'Nothing you haven't said before' I turned off my phone and took a nap. When I woke up it was 5:00 at night. Mom called me down for dinner. I sat there in silence while the rest of them talked.

"So Ivy" Aunt Emily addressed me "where did you go earlier?"

"Exercise is always good for health" I answered ignoring my parents stern looks to be more friendly. I don't know why but I get a bad feeling about her. Must be her unfamiliarity with us.

"I ran into someone today," i told her.

"Who was it?"

"I'm not sure... he had a hood on like me."

"Well-" she was cut off by my phone ringing. I answered. It was my mother.

"Ivy, where are you? You're Aunt Emily from Texas is here." I didn't say anything, just hng up and told hailey i had to leave. I ran all the way back home.

When I got there, I saw Aunt Emily but didn't move toward her. I just stood there with my hood on. "Hello, Ivy!" She embraced me. I didn't hug back. "Why don't you speak?"

"One who says little cannot have his words used against him." She frowned and went on talking to Mom. I went back out. Again, I ran into him. This time, he whispered something to me, "3 times," he said. I knew what he meant. I had to meet him 3 times before we really spoke.

I arrived back home.
