Samantha's POV

"You're gonna be late to school everyday if you keep this up!"

"I just want my sleep, Anna!" I mumbled from underneath my blankets.

"Come on. You are just sixteen. Still young!" My nineteen year old sister exclaimed in disappointment from the kitchen.

"Leave me alone!" I yelled and immediately feeling even more exhausted.

"Don't make me come get you!"

That sentence was enough to make me spring out of the bed. That last time she said that, I ignored her and she tickled me to death. Her tickles were deadly, in addition to the fact that I was extremely ticklish. I was scared of her tickles, so I couldn't risk that. I threw on random clothes and rushed to the living room. I was disappointed in only seeing my older sister. I guessed I should be used to it.

My parents were writers. When I was a kid, my parents wrote stories about our town, Staerit and sometimes published their own fictions. But the company craved for something new. So they sent their best writers, aka my parents, to go out and write about their discoveries. Every once in awhile they would return to town for a few days then leave.

"Here, take your lunch." Annabil smiled as she placed a container on the counter. "Okay, see ya, Anna!" I yelled as I stuffed my lunch in my bag, swung my bag on my shoulder, and ran out the door.

I ran to the back of the house where my bike was waiting for me. I kicked the pedal and raced down the path that separated Staerit Woods in half. Every time I passed the woods, I would always feel a pair of eyes on me. Maybe even more than a pair. I shrugged the uneasy feeling off me. It must have been just my imagination.

Staerit's high school was in view. The black gates were starting to close. I pedaled faster, with the wind whipping my uncombed hair. I barely made it in time as I screeched to a halt and jumped off the bike. Leaving it with the pile of bikes, I made my way to class.

"Oh look, it is Sam Ham. What is that hairstyle?"

I didn't bother looking at who was talking. Rishana and her minions giggled behind me. There wasn't a day Rishana would leave me alone. I wondered if she would ever get tired of making remarks on others.

I jogged to Class R and sat at the back where no one would bother me. I sighed remembering that my other friends were in other classes. Guess I would be sitting alone for the rest of the year.

"Good morning class!" Miss Peggy smiled with a boy I've never seen before. Not that I cared. I rested my head on my hand as I watched her gestured towards the tall boy next to her. "We have a newcomer from out of town. He will be staying with us from now on. Now go on, introduce yourself." My eyes shifted to the boy. Tall, slender yet compactly muscular boy with a head of curly dark hair. What captured me was the softness in his dark eyes.

"Hey I'm Justin." He mumbled not making eyes contact with anyone. Miss Peggy clapped her hands and scanned the classroom. "Why don't you sit next to Samantha at the back of the classroom? She can help you adapt to your new environment."
