Samantha's POV
I slouched in my seat as I started dying of boredom. Mister Alan teaching maths in his monotone. I thought about what happened. After dinner that day, I called the girls what happened. They were definitely relieved to know I came back home safe. They warned me not to do something so crazy again, considering it was so dangerous. They let me go just to give me a taste of it, but they said they would do anything to keep me from going there again. I smiled thinking about the girls, they were like my second family.
As I relaxed in my seat, I yawned and decided to take a nap. I placed my arms on my desk and slept. Normally I didn't get dreams in class, but this time, I had. And it was a weird dream.
I was in a white room with people dressed up in all white. I walked around, hoping to find clues as to where I was. No one came up to me. Their seemed to see right through me. Until a little girl came up to me.
"Don't be afraid. It is normal to be invisible to everyone here, except for me." She smiled.
She looked very cheerful. Don't even know if that is a good thing or not. She looked like she wanted me to respond to her.
"Umm... Okay."
"I know you have a lot of questions to ask me. You can just ask me. Be straight forward. No need to go in loops. I hate it when people talk like that."
At that moment, my mind was squirming with questions. I was indecisive as to which questions I should ask.
"So, do you have any questions?" She asked with an impatient expression. "If you don't, then I will have to look inside your brain and pick out—"
"I do," cutting her. "Where am I?" I didn't need her to look into my head, that would be creepy.
She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Finally! I thought I needed to look inside that brain of yours. We are in the City of questions. Seems like you are one of the chosen ones to enter this city."
"So, is it a good thing or a bad thing?" The chosen ones?
"I will consider it as a good thing. You have to be sleeping in order to enter this city. So, it's very private. Ask me any questions about life."
I thought hard. Gosh, there were so many questions to ask about life.
"First question, are there really monsters in the woods? Second question, what is behind the wall?"
"To your first question, it depends. Sometimes they come out, sometimes they don't." she shrugged. Did that mean she wasn't sure?
"And to your second question, that will be a long answer. Still want to know?" her face looked serious as if she was about to tell me the biggest secret ever.
Actually, thinking about it, it probably was. "Yes. But can we find a place to sit. For some reason, my legs feel like they are going to give out."
"Yeah! Sure."
Her rose, her feet lifting off the ground and started floating out of the white room.
I could tell you that there wasn't much color, the streets and shops in different shades of white and gray and black. Surprisingly, it didn't look dull. In fact, it was very pretty, more like a piece of drawing. Then, I looked at myself to see what I was wearing. My navy blue t-shirt turned dark gray here. My black jeans, still black.
