Samantha's POV

"I'm home," I announced taking off my shoes.

"What happened,' I looked up and saw Annabil sitting on the sofa with her laptop.

"Chartina happened."

"I'm sure she has her reasons."

"Ugh, I don't want to talk about her."

With that, I strode to my room and changed into comfy clothes. I relaxed into my chair and focused on the scrapped piece of paper on my wooden desk. My list of things that I wrote. I needed to sneak into my parent's room for certain things that I didn't poses. I could still hear my sister typing away on her laptop in the living room. I could not afford to let her know that I had planned to go to the woods.

With my heart in my mouth, the door creaked open. I tiptoed my way in, closing the door behind mesoftly.I turned on the lights and I scanned the room. To the left, their closet where their clothes from years ago laid untouched and beside it, was their bed. I passed the bed across the room and faced two white wooden doors. One of them led to my parent's equipment and the other led to their personal bathroom. I didn't always enter their room, so I guessed it'd be normal for me to forget which door was which. I turned the door knob of the door on the left and prayed. I was welcomed by the smell of rusty metal. I smiled and began searching for items I thought would help me and stuffed them in my parent's old camping backpack.

I went to school with my packed bag and was late. I stood in front of the front-desk waiting to write down my name on the tardiness record sheet. I was double checking I had everything I needed for my adventure. I tapped my foot impatiently as I waited in queue. When it was my turn, Mrs. Hugh sighed in disappointment. She was in her mid 40s with her blond hair in a bun. Her hazel eyes looked into mine. I took a deep breath, embracing for what was going to happen.

"Samantha, I've been watching you since this school year started. Every morning, you were always the last one to go through the gates before it closed. And every time, you were on your bike fighting time. I was waiting for this moment, when you'd be late, so I can teach you a lesson about tardiness.

"Yeah, I've learnt my lesson, now may I get to class so I won't miss anything?"

She blinked her eyes in shock, but let me through, "Remember what I said to you today."

She had always enjoyed getting on my nerves. Not as bad as Rishana, but still. Sometimes, I just wanted zip her mouth closed and hopefully never hear her annoying voice again. Same thing goes to Rishana, except that I would also cut her and hear her scream as she watches her caramel hair fall to the ground.

I walked into Class R and apologized to Mr. Alan for arriving late. He nodded and turned back to the board. I made my way to my seat and noticed that no one was paying attention in class, not even Justin. Justin looked up as I put down my bag and slid into my seat.

"You going today?"

I looked at him, "How'd you know?"
