Samantha's POV
Every day had been the usual. Waking up to Sally's voice instead of Annabil's, getting annoyed with Luc and planning with Valerie. I didn't think the place was that bad, but there was just something wrong. I just had that feeling and I trusted my instincts. Usually, my instincts were right.
I wondered how Staerit was. How were my parents? I just had to get kidnapped while they were in town. It frustrated me whenever I thought about it. How were the girls?
"Samantha, are you awake?" I stood in front of the opened closet. "Yes!" I yelled at the door. I grabbed a violet t-shirt, a pair of black skinny jeans and pulled my dark hair into a high ponytail. "I'll be out in a minute," I told Sally. I slung my backpack and told her I was ready.
I wouldn't be seeing Valerie in the morning. So, I was alone in maths. Well, not really alone with Luc beside me. He had his sunglasses on with his arms crossed. Is he sleeping? Never mind. I shrugged. I did what I usually did. Tried listening in class. Falling asleep. Gave in to sleep.

The bell rang, signaling lunch. I groaned at the disturbance of my sleep but still got up as I was starving. I could never leave my stomach empty. I always needed food with me.
I stretched, making sure I didn't hit the still-sleeping Luc, before packing my things and made my way out the door. The corridors were filled with students. I made a beeline towards the cafeteria and sat in my usual seat with my lunch on a tray. Seemed like today we were having spaghetti carbonara, except a sad version.
"Samantha!" I snapped out of my mind, "Hey! How are you, girl?"
Valerie joined the table with her tray. I looked at my lunch. Is it just me or does my lunch look sad? "You wouldn't believe what I just found out?" Her eyes were filled with sparks.
"What happened?"
She placed her tray down and started.
"Luc and Diva broke up." She held her breath, looking at me, expecting a reaction.
"Oh."
She looks confused, "Just an 'Oh'? Aren't you going to ask why?"
"I'm not interested in them."
"Apparently, Luc doesn't feel it anymore with her. And that's not the main story of today," she paused letting me sink that in. "I caught a glimpse of the new student. Let me just tell you that, He. Is. Hot. And Diva is seducing him to make him hers."
As if on cue, the cafeteria doors opened and everyone turned their heads, sensing their aura. Dramatic much. But still, I turned around to feed my curiosity about this new kid. I immediately regretted it.
What was he doing here? Why was he here? He shouldn't have come here.
My eyes stayed glued to him.
His eyes swept the cafeteria as if looking for someone, and they've found me. It was like time stopped, our eyes gazing into each other. There was so much I wanted to ask about. So many questions.
He slipped his arm out of Diva's, who in return frowned and pout. He kept his eyes on me. He didn't turn to Diva's mad face. He closed the distance between us. Unconsciously, I stood up. He stopped before me, an unreadable expression.
This wasn't just my imagination, was it?
When I've finally found my voice, I sounded lost.
"Justin?"
