Samantha's POV
Closing the doors behind me, I made my way up to my room. In the end, I wasn't able to get a good sleep in class. I kept shifting positions in my seat. I hated it when that happened. Not being able to find the perfect position to sleep in.
I threw my bag in the corner and flopped on my bed. I relaxed into the softness of the mattress and closed my eyes.
How many things happened this week?
My door banged open with a hyped Annabil. I sat up at once and saw her holding the phone. I didn't feel so sleepy after seeing the home phone in her hands, it could only mean one thing with Annabil looking like she was going to yell.
"They are coming back," she squealed.
Just those four words washed away the exhaustion I had. It was replaced by excitement. Last time I had seen them was last year. Finally, they were coming back. I tried making them stay longer last time, but they had to continue their writing. What if I found something unexpected? Would they be interested? Would they stay? Guess it was time to hunt. My mind went to the dreams I've been having.
Venture into the woods? Not a bad idea.
I didn't stop to waste on debating whether I should consider my safety. Afterall, nothing that bad could be in the woods. The monsters were probably just made up for children not to go somewhere alone. I wasn't a child. Sixteen years of age, definitely, not a child.
"Aww, Sam. I know what you are thinking." Annabil sat beside me on the bed and hugged me. "You know they have a job to attend to. Let's be content that they even have time to visit us once in a while."
She squeezed my shoulder and pecked my forehead. "Come down for dinner. Don't want a cold meal as dinner, do you?"
I nodded, fighting back the tears in my eyes. Despite what Annabil said, I would still go. It was an opportunity that I shouldn't give up, just like that.
I went to school early, very unlike me, but I was just thrilled about telling them. "Where is my Sammy? Where did you kidnap her?" I chuckled, "I was so eager to tell you guys that I couldn't really sleep the entire night."
"You have a boyfriend?"
"I wish I had one, Meghan, but no."
"Then what?"
"My parents are coming back."
They screamed and hugged me, "Finally! How long has it been since you last saw them?" I embraced their hugs, "Six months. I'm planning on making them stay longer this time."
