Chapter 17

(A few days later) •Rydel•
"I'm so pumped for this road trip!" I exclaim and Ell smiles.

"Me too. It'll be nice to get away. Do you have any idea where we're going?" He asks.

"Actually no. We'll have to talk to Ross and Laura. It was Ross's idea." I say.

"I wonder why Ross wanted a road trip anyway." I add. Ell shrugs and continues packing.

"Why are you packing?" I ask.

"Because we're going on a road trip." He said in a duh tone.

"I know that. But why pack when we don't even know where we're going yet? You don't want to pack muscle shirts and swim shorts and we end up going to like, Alaska." I explain and he groans.

"Why do you always have to be right?" He asks and I smirk. "That's just the way I am."

(With Ross and Laura) •Laura•
I keep asking Ross where were going on our road trip but he won't answer!

"Please tell me!" I whine.

"Laur, I'm not gonna tell you." He says.

"But why?!"

"Because it's a surprise." He says.

Oh no. He is not pulling that surprise card on me.

"What? A surprise? Remember what happened last time you surprised me? You took me to the zoo to see the goat and it-" Ross cut me off. "I said I was sorry! I didn't know the goat was in the heat!" Ross then closes his eyes and bursts out in laughter.

"Your face! You looked terrified!" He managed to say. I put my face in my hands. "That's not funny Ross." I say. I hear his laughter get closer to me and I feel him sit next to me.

"Relax babe." He says while placing an arm around me. "But can I just say, every time you screamed, the goat like... made this weird noise." He says. I push him off me and walk to the corner of his room.

"Lauraaa...." He trails. "I'm sorry.."
He starts to walk over to me but I turn my back towards him.

"Please look at me." He says.

A few minutes pass and we're still in our same position. Until I hear him sigh and he wraps his arms around my waist and places his head in the crook of my neck.

I'm not gonna lie, I feel so safe and warm in his arms. I give in and relax into his arms, laying my head against his shoulder. I feel him smile against my neck.

"Forgive me?" He asks.

"Not for that day at the zoo." I say and he chuckles.

We stay in this position for a while. I'm not complaining, I'm nice and warm. But my legs are feeling numb.

"Are you going to let me go?" I ask.

He shakes his head. "Never."

Awe! I turn around so that I'm facing him. He keeps his arms around my waist. "Well hello." He says. "Hi."

I cup his cheeks with my hands and press my lips to his. He smiles with in the kiss which makes me smile back.

I pull away and he leans his forehead against mine. "So, will you tell me where were going?" I ask.

"I will." He says and I squeal. "When, the others get here." He adds. Ugh!

"When will that be?" I ask. Right when he was about to answer, I see my sister, Riker, and Rydellington come in.

"Now." Ross says.

"So, where are we going on our road trip, Ross?" Rydel asks.

"We're going home." Ross says.

Guess who's back! I didn't go to school today because I still feel pretty lazy. So, I'm laying in my bed! Very warm and cozy 😌
