Smells

Do you ever get a waft of something and you get lightheaded, or you have a little flashback? That happens to me a lot. My neighbors have some catnip plant, and I REALLY like the smell of catnip. Ironically, I hate the character Nepeta. Her name is the scientific name for catnip. WALP.

Another aromatic plant my neighbors have is this lilac tree. Now, the flowers only bloom for about two weeks, so I'm not actually smelling it, but my brain remembers that time and SHOVES the smell up my nostrils and I can't smell anything else for a while. It actually gives me a headache. Whenever I smell diesel oil, I remember that ONE time I went to C. J. Barrymores with my crush at that time. And we went racing on the go cart track or something. It was fun. So I just take it all in, enjoying the moment.

Another smell I like is the grass after the rain. But my favorite smell of all time has to be the wind. It actually smells different, contrary to popular belief. It smells clean, and crisp, and fresh. I literally face the wind, just so I can smell it.

A smell that brings up bad memories for me has to be ANY axe cologne. Last year in my film class, we were doing a project where I had to slam into a locker at full speed, and then say some stupid pickup line to this kid who was standing at the locker. It was fun and tiring, yes. And it was breathtaking. Like, I could barely breathe. So, the two boys in my group, Phil and Robert, decided to begin messing with me. The locker I ran into was Phil's locker, fyi. So Robert got the ingenious Idea to spray his cologne in Phil's locker. I don't know why Phil was ok with this, maybe because everyone already knows that they are like, closet lovers or something, but I didn't question it. So, re-doing the shot once again, I ran into the locker. But as I did, a HUGE puff of Axe just, BOOM, right up my nose. I fell to the ground, coughing and cursing them as they tried to stifle their laughter. My other group member, who had to stand at the locker initially, Ali, was also coughing and yelling at them. IT WAS NOT FUN.

So that's why I don't like Axe.

I like roses, but I have no Idea why people say they smell sweet. They smell weird. They don't really smell like anything, they only smell like petals. PETALS.

So yeah, that's smells. Have any smell stories you want to share?
