Derek P.O.V

"You miss him, don't you?" Stiles Stilinkski's voice drifted into my ears.

What the hell is he doing here?

"Yeah. Yeah, I do."

Oh god. It's all my fault.

"Just text him," Stiles nudged McKenzie.

I looked through the window to see her picking up her phone and unlocking it.

"Wow. Your screensaver is Derek? Is your password Derek as well?" Stiles asked sarcastically.

"No." She replied quickly. "It's his birthday."

I saw her hit send, then my phone vibrated in my back pocket. Ze shot up from her lying down position on her bed and looked towards the window, almost directly at me.

"What? What's up?"

She looked for me with her wolf eyes, and smirked.

"Stalking me again, Hale?"

Crap! She saw me. I saw Stiles shift around awkwardly.

"I'm gonna go see how Scott is," he said, then kissed Ze's forehead, causing my blood to boil. He was a dead man walking, and he knew it to.

"Might as well come out whilst you can still see," McKenzie threatened.

Hold up. Let me explain everything. I guess I should start with why I'm looking through a teenage girls bedroom? Probably the best place to start. My name is Derek Hale, and the teenage girl inside the bedroom is McKenzie McCall, or Ze, as I like to call her. She's my promised, something us werewolves treasure forever. I made her a promise, some time ago, and I broke that promise. The promise was that I wouldn't become an Alpha, and let her brother, Scott, kill my uncle so that he was cured. But I broke that promise, leaving me without a pack, and without my one true love. I find it quite ironic that I broke the promise I promised I wouldn't break, and that my promised is the one who made me promise in the first place. The thing is though, I already marked her. That means, that no matter what, she's mine, and only mine.

"Well?" Her sarcastic voice brought me out of my thoughts. "Are you gonna sit there like a stalker, or go home?"

"Can I come in?" I asked, my voice almost breaking towards the end. I knew she was upset too. I could see the unshed tears shining in her eyes, how she still had tearstains on her cheeks, but her stance told otherwise. She was stood up tall, her head in the air, and it was in that moment I knew she wasn't going to break until I had left. She sighed, and during that sigh, some of her inner toughness crumbled.

"Derek. I just," she paused. "I just don't think that's the best idea," she said softly. I nodded, knowing she could see me.

"Okay," I whispered, then jumped down from her roof and ran into the woods. From a certain spot in between two trees, I could see the McCall house perfectly, and that's where I slept that night. And whilst the stars were twinkling above me, I was thinking about my beautiful angel, and how I was going to win her back...

Hey guys and gals! Thankyou for reading the first 'chapter' of Hiding Orange Eyes. Thankyou to everyone who has read the first book, Red Eyes, and I hope you enjoy this book. I know this is short, but the first actual chapter should be up soon. Tell me what you think of this prologue! Are you excited for the next  chapter? Do you think Derek's gonna get Kenzie back? And what's going on between Stiles and Kenzie anyway? Is there a small fling blooming, or was it just brotherly affection? Tell me what you think! Make sure you keep checking for the next chapter cos I have no deadline to get it up for, and it could be up sonner than you think. Thanks for reading! Make sure comment, vote and share as it would mean loads to me! Thanks!
