Chapter 16

McKenzie's P.O.V
"Run!" I shouted, pushing on Stiles' chest and towards Derek. I watched as the creature threw Erica to the side, knocking her unconscious. Derek grabbed me, pulling me away from its claws. I quickly unzipped the dress and shifted, growling at the creature.
"It's called a Kanima," a voice in my head spoke. "Watch out for his claws."

I didn't have time to think on what the voice had said, but instead focus on getting away from its claws, like told. I jumped over the creature before kicking it with my hind legs.
"Derek," Stiles said. "Your neck."
I turned around to see Stiles holding up Derek, and a very pissed off lizard thing. I jumped on its back, only to be flipped off and dumped into a pool. I heard Stiles struggling, something dropping on the floor and a splash. I turned around underwater and saw Stiles grabbing Derek from the bottom of the pool. I quickly swam over, the water doing nothing but making my fur heavier as I doggy-paddled through the water. I swam underneath Stiles, lifting him up above the water so he was holding Derek on my back. He looked down at me gratefully, holding Derek's waist securely. I growled at him, and he rolled his eyes before moving his hands to Derek's shoulders instead.

"It's been two hours," Stiles spoke. "How come Kenzie could move by now?"
"Because she's a warrior. Anything that can paralyse her, hurt her, make her bleed, anything like that, it wears off quickly. And now that she's been struck the Kanima venom once, she should be immune to it," Derek replied. "Now shut up."
I growled at him.
"Don't tell him to shut up," I spoke through my mind to him. Derek rolled his eyes and I growled at him again before dipping my head underwater, forcing Derek to almost fall off.
I felt my back get lighter as Stiles slid off into the water, taking Derek with him. I yipped, and Stiles shook his head.
"You need a break."
He started swimming towards the diving board so he could hold on. He didn't make it. I dove underwater, grabbing Derek's Shirley and dragging him onto dry land. I swam back down, looking around for Stiles. Where was he? I couldn't see him anywhere. I felt a hand tugging on my fur and resurfaced, seeing Scott dragging Stiles out with a handful of my fur in his empty hand.

"It's not normal. It's - it's not right. It's like -" Derek trailed off.
"It's an abomination," stiles sighed.
"What are we gonna do about the Kanima?" I asked, wrapped up in a towel with Scotts spare top on.
"All I know is that when I find it, I'm gonna kill it," Derek said menacingly, before turning around and walking away, Erica in tow.
