Alec sprinted through the streets of Brooklyn. Jace's words sent chills through him. 'Wait until you see what happened to the real Magnus.'
Alec was in a panic. He couldn't lose Magnus. He couldn't.
Running into the building Alec found the door unlocked. Bursting into the loft, Alec ran through the kitchen. Magnus was standing in the middle of the living room.
Alec crashed into Magnus, before he even knew who was their.
"Alec?"
"Are you okay? Magnus are you alright?" Alec checked Magnus all over for wounds. Once realizing that he was okay, he brought Magnus into a kiss. Tears ran down his cheeks.
"What happened? What's wrong?" Magnus asked him.
"Jace said that you were hurt, I..." Alec trailed off. "I'm so glad your okay." He buried his head in Magnus' shoulder.
They stood like that, in each other's arms, Alec sobbing into Magnus' shoulder. "I thought you were hurt. I thought something happened to you." Alec said.
"Who told you that?" Magnus already knew the answer.
Alec wiped his eyes.
"Jace. He destroyed all of my pictures of you and then said 'Wait until you see the real one.' I- I thought you were dead, Magnus."
"Oh, Alec." Magnus wiped Alec's eyes. "I'm okay. See? I'm okay." Magnus pulled Alec close again.
☆ ☆ ☆Alec had stayed with Magnus that night. He had to make sure he was alright, and stayed alright.
Early morning, Alec left, leaving Magnus a note telling him that he would be at the Institute.
When he got inside, he changed into Shadowhunter gear and went to the training room. It felt good to release his anger by punching something that wasn't Jace. Because punching bags didn't punch back at you. Or throw knives at your boyfriend.
Alec gave up the punching bag when his shoulder wound started burning.
Picking up his bow, Alec fired the arrows rapidly. They hit every target, dead bullseye. When he ran out of arrows, Alec took a water break. While sitting on one of the benches, Alec noticed Jace leaning in thr doorway.
Alec didn't acknowledge him, just took another swig from his water bottle.
"How's training going?" Jace asked. To anyone else it would sound as jf Jace was only attempting small talk, but Alec knew better.
Again, Alec ignored him.
Alec got up, and tried to walk past Jace, out the door. Of course, Jace wouldn't let him pass.
"Where are you going, Big Brother?" He asked.
Alec didn't speak.
"Oh, don't ignore me, now."
Realizing that there was no hope, Alec turned away. Facing away from Jace, he returned to the punching bag.
Jace stalked around him, and when Alec stopped punching, he clapped his hands.
"That was great. Nine out of ten. Your form could use a little tweaking." Jace remarked.Shaking his head, Alec made a run for the door. He made it out and halfway down the hallway before someone grabbed his arm, spinning him around.
"What, Jace?" Alec hissed.
"Oh come on, Alec, don't be that way." Jace said.
"Let me go, Jace."
"But why, Big Brother? You always wanted me to hold you, right?" Jace swung Alec around, so his back was to Jace. Putting his hands over his shoulders, Jace yanked Alec back roughly, so his back was on Jace's chest.
This should have been happy, romantic even. But as Alec struggled in Jace's grip, he realized just how much he didn't want Jace.
Alec reached into his pocket, but realized that his phone was at the bottom of the ocean.
"Jace! Let me go!" Jace laughed, pulling him tighter.
"Stop! Get off!"
Alec stopped struggling. Waiting a moment, he surprised Jace by ducking under his arms. Pulling a knife out of his weapons belt, he held it to Jace's chest.
"Touch me again and this will go through your heart." He turned and walked away from Jace.
