Just like many days no one was home in the Wheeler house. The house was quiet, almost eerily so. The only thing that could be heard was the giggling of a female voice. Mia and Drake had spent every afternoon after school together for the past two weeks and their level of affection had gone way past friendly and had slipped right into infatuation.

"Drake, stop it!" Mia said through her laughter, trying to escape his tickling grasp on her sides. She was practically climbing up the back of his couch trying to get away.

"You didn't say please. Mon Amour!" Drake said making fun of Mia's creole accent.

"Please! Please, quit it!" She said going from giggles to full on laughter.

"Okay, but only because you were such a lady about it." Drake said letting her go. She sat back down and narrowed her eyes at him. She then gave her baby doll t-shirt a firm tug because it had rode up while they were rough housing.

"Ooh I swear if you weren't so cute I would..." She said making a fist and tapped it against his chin.

"You would what?" Drake said moving closer to her. She just smiled bit her bottom lip and shook her head. "You would sock me one?" He asked. Before she could respond she pressed his lips against hers and she melted in his arms.

As they held each other and kissed they rolled about on the couch and Mia ended up straddling Drake. She flipped her thick spiraled curled hair up and out of her face and looked down at Drake passion in her green eyes and a smile on her full lips. He wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his head in her bosom. He took a deep sniff of her perfume and smiled. Mia cradled his head and kissed the top of it.

"You're so adorable it's disgusting." Mia said barely louder than a whisper.

"And you're so cute it's revolting." Drake responded. They stayed in this position for more than a few minutes. Something about Mia made Drake at ease. For the first time in almost three months he felt like a normal guy. Before meeting Mia the thought of ever being normal again was completely horrifying to Drake, but now having her on his lap and in his embrace he couldn't feel further from that. Drake was currently un-augmented and he could hear her heart beat in her chest and could feel her warmth and it felt right, and natural. He thought to himself and wondered how it is he got so lucky. He then decided that it was best not to look the gift horse in the mouth and just enjoy his time with the beautiful girl that currently held him so tenderly.

At that moment Drakes phone buzzed in his pocket. There was a silent stillness between them, and neither moved for a moment.

"You gonna get that?" Mia breathed in his ear.

"You felt that?" Drake asked boyishly.

"Vibrated on my thigh." She said sitting up straight and throwing her leg over to get off of him. Drake sighed and pulled out his phone. It was a text from Melanie.

Got something get to my house ASAP. After reading it his head hung and he sighed with disdain.

"Let me guess, you gotta go." Mia said with a smile but her eyes looked disappointed.

"Yea... a work thing." Drake answered and thought about how this is how most of their dates ended, someone calling him or her away.
