Drake sat with the heels of his palms in his eyes scrambling his brain trying to think. He stood up and walked over to his window. He knew better than to touch it but his rebellious nature wouldn't let him not try. He moved to touch it and red lightning arced off of it sending pain searing through his left hand.

"Damn it!" he said trying to shake off the tingling numbing sensation that was now coursing through his left arm.

His phone buzzed, and he briskly walked over to it to discover it was Melanie calling. He didn't even bother with the semantics when he answered.

"We are blown... you gotta get out of there." He said urgently.

"What are you talking about?" Melanie demanded.

"My mother is a witch, she knows you're a vampire, and I'm a Vanator. I am sure witches from her coven are on their way to kill you and Tessa."

"You have to be kidding." Melanie said sounding a bit terrified.

"I wish I was... I would be there to help but I'm stuck in my room. My mother has me sealed in with magic."

"Dammit! Okay Drake me and Tessa are going to bug out I will send you my location once I am safely away from here. I want you to try and get to me as soon as you can... we are running out of time and apparently now the walls are closing in on us."

"I'll do what I can." Drake said, pressed END on the screen and tossed the phone on the bed.

Drake was at a loss for ideas. He had no clue how to subvert magic or even what to do about his mother or Melanie. Now there was this strange draw in his chest and all of a sudden he couldn't stop thinking about Mia. He was still worried about her but he had more pressing issues at hand, the need to escape the prison that was his bedroom for starters. But the more that he tried to think about something else the thought of Mia's beautiful smile beat against his brain. He wondered why this was but then he looked out of his bedroom window and he noticed a shimmering as if the glass was made of water. He took a couple steps toward it and soon after the glass began to glow red like the electricity that shocked him for touching it, and still rippled and shimmered like water. He then started hearing a voice... sounded like a battle cry, a female battle cry and it sounded like it was coming from a ways off. Her voice sounded like she was shouting from the opposite side of a long tunnel, and who ever this was still couldn't be seen just the now violent shimmering and rippling of the glass. Drake narrowed his eyes and instinctively took a step back. His instincts served him well because a moment later the glass and red energy cracked then burst. Coming toward him was a human projectile and it slammed into him with enough force to take him off of his feet and have him land on his bed, with the wind knocked out of him. Both he and she laid moaning in pain on his bed. He looked over and saw the back of her curly haired head. She turned and Mia's pretty face twisted in anguish is what greeted him.

"When we would talk late at night... this is not what I meant when I said I wanted you in my bed babe." Drake said through his grunts.

"Just like you, cracking jokes at a time like this." Mia said willing her self to her feet. Drake made it to his feet as well and embraced Mia in a powerful hug. "Babe, I can't breathe." Mia complained.

"Im sorry..." Drake said releasing her. He stood and looked at her for moment confused. Then a harsh reality set in, and the smile that was playing on the corner of his lips faded. "Mia, I'm really glad to see you, but how the hell did you get in here?" Drake asked.
