"You just gonna stand there or are you gonna spill the secret to your plan like all the bad guys seem to do?" Dante taunted Aurora, the young woman snorting quietly and raised her head in defiance. I watched from my position on the wall, trying to wiggle my way free. Dante snapped his head up, shouting back to me. "Don't move! You'll just end up hurting the kid if you're not careful!"

I went pale; Dante winked to me then turned his attention back to Aurora. So he did know, and he seemed to be ok with it at this point in time. Though that didn't mean he would be when we left here. Aurora rested a hand on her hip, my precious necklace dangling from her disgusting little hand. That was my necklace, my connection to Dante.

"Aeon... You mean to tell me you've never heard of the one they call Aeon?" Aurora's voice was almost breathless, taking a twisted pleasure in knowing more than Dante did. Though the fact of the matter was that Dante didn't know everything, especially when it came to matters like Trish and Mallet Island. "He... He is the guardian of the portals. He is the only way I can go to your world and be with Arius."

"Arius?" Dante's eyes flicked up to me, I shook my head, I couldn't say who he was, the risk of him knowing too much about his future was too great. He nodded, looking back at Aurora. The blonde had a dreamy expression on her face, was that what I looked like when I thought of Dante? When I spoke of him? That look of utter bliss and devotion to a man who didn't exist in this world? My eyes fell down, was it wrong of me to stop Aurora? She wanted to be with Arius... If she loved him then-

"Let me get this straight, you want to bring this Aeon into this world... Which would destroy it in the process... just to rip open a portal to my world and be with some guy named Arius?"

"You sound so surprised, Dante. Isn't this what your precious Masumi is doing? Trying to rip open a portal to be with you?" Aurora paused as she looked up at me, laughing as she covered her mouth with a hand. The necklace still dangling in her hand like a taunt towards Dante and I. "I mean, as long as you don't reject her for being pregnant that is! Or get bored of her! That body is going to go as soon as she has that brat you know~"

Aurora continued to laugh, she had the information that we needed, none of us knew who Aeon really was, Dante glanced up at me. Aeon was a guardian of portals, which Aurora planned to use to rip open the dimensions to be with Arius. She was taunting me... But I smirked, wiggling slightly in my binds as I made a comment.

"But what makes you so damn sure that Arius is going to want you?"

"Excuse me?" Aurora remarked, raising an eyebrow, turning on the spot to face me. I grinned at her, Dante's eyes widening as I continued to speak.

"Yeah, what makes you so sure he's going to want you... And y'know, Arius doesn't exactly survive..." My eyes glanced to Dante and winked at him. "Spoilers, Dante~"

"Watch your mouth! Of course he'll want me! Aeon will make sure of it!"

"Oh really? Aeon is gonna make sure of it?"

"When Aeon tears open the portals to the world I want to be in... He'll give me what I want for bringing him here..."

I just stared down at Aurora, the young woman snarled up at me. I sniggered and turned my head away, was she really that stupid? Did she really think a guardian was going to give her what she wanted that easily?

"So... You bringing Aeon to this world... And he just gives you the passage to Arius's world. That easily?"

"Of course, what else would he do?"

"Kill you?"

Aurora stared at me when I came out with the words, with a shrug of my shoulders, my head turned away from the scowling young woman. The expression on her face was one of complete disbelief. Guardians wouldn't just allow a worlds story to be disregarded like she was planning on doing.

"You want to destroy the future. You want to change what's meant to happen. Aeon would never allow that!" I snapped back, Aurora just stared. I didn't know what was happening, she was silent. Just staring back at me.

That's when the laughter fell from her lips.

"You little hypocrite! I want to destroy the future! I want to change what's meant to happen! You already have!" Aurora howled with laughter, almost doubling over as Dante pointed Ebony and Ivory at her, trying to aim at her forehead for a clear shot before she pointed up at me. "You're pregnant with the child of a man that doesn't exist, in a world he isn't meant to exist in. Does your child even exist?"

Her laughter was the only thing in the room, echoing throughout as she threw her hair back, staring up at me.

"The ritual will take time to prepare... But I have the last piece I need."

Her hand rose, holding the rose necklace by the chain. Aurora breathed in, like she was taking her last breath or the first one in a new world. Heels clacking against the flooring as she walked around, stepping closer to the glass window I was trapped against.

"I don't need much more... Just to lay out the base of the ritual... Then I can summon him, Aeon... oh Aeon... It won't be much longer now." That's when she turned on Dante, slipping the necklace around her neck. The shining rose pendant dangling below her collarbone. Hand rising to form a flame, my eyes widened, she should have lost the ability to use magic when I destroyed her gauntlets. "If you think that the gauntlets were the source of my magic, you couldn't be more wrong, my dear little Masumi..."

Dante jumped back as Aurora unleashed the fireballs at him, using Ivory to unleash some shots towards her. The woman just deflected them with a cloak of flames around her, dancing her way around the bullets until Dante got close enough to kick her down to the ground. Heel snapping when she landed awkwardly with a screech and a loud thud, the nozzle of Ivory pointed at her forehead though all she did was smirk upwards at Dante.

"And here I thought you didn't kill humans, Dante."

"You're no human, you entered the darkness of the demon realm a long time ago."

"You would know all about that, wouldn't you?" Aurora's voice wasn't even shaking at the sight of the gun being pointed at her forehead, Dante's crystal blue eyes dead as he stared her down. Though his eyebrow rose in curiosity as she continued, the glass window that I was held against beginning to shake and crack. "Maybe you should be keeping a better eye on that light of yours."

"Dante! The window!" I cried out as the glass began to shatter in places again, the demon hunter pulling away from her and rushed over to look for a way of getting me down.

"Maybe... Maybe, you should be more careful..." Aurora screeched with laughter, throwing a ball of controlled energy at the window, the glass shattering as the ball impacted. Glass flying backwards from the frame, my body being propelled backwards with the shards, the binds on my arms and legs vanishing with the impact of the spell that Aurora used. The wind rushing against my body, everything moved in slow motion as Dante screamed, trying to reach for me. No words came from his lips, no sound at all. All I could feel was the wind rushing past me as I fell from the top of the building, hand stretched out in some desperate attempt to reach the man I loved.

"MASUMI!" Dante's voice cracked as he slipped away Ebony and Ivory, stepping back and rushed to the window, diving downwards towards me.

A giggle left Aurora's lips as she folded her pale arms across her chest, watching the scene unfold in front of her.

"That light will be your own undoing, Dante. You can't stop Aeon. And neither can your precious Dimension Child."

Aurora turned away from the window, walking away with the pendant shining around her neck.
