"Thanks," I said to Chris," For staying with me, it means a lot to know there's at least one person who doesn't think of me as a danger to society."

"So, is that where the name comes from then?" he asked.

"What name?"

"Jinx." He added.

"Oh," I sighed," Kind of, It's a long story."

He moved and sat on the bed beside me " I've got time." He said, turning to face me.

"Okay then," I started, " Basically when ever I was around others or became close to them, something bad always happened, always. I couldn't have any friends because they always got hurt. Then it went onto whatever I did, something bad happened. People started to say that I was cursed and calling me "Jinx". For a long time I didn't believe them, but as I got on with life and more bad things happened I started to believe them. So, I then went by the name to stop them calling me it behind my back." I explained. I have never told anyone this story before , most didn't ask, but Christopher was different from the others from my past. Special.

"I don't believe that for one second." Christopher exclaimed , turning to face me straight on.

"What do you mean?" I asked, shocked.

"You, being cursed. How can a person like you be cursed?!"

"What do you mean ' A person like me'?"

He started to go pink " Erm, I mean like, a person with your sort of personality."

I raised my eyebrows in confusion " What do you mean 'of my sort of personality'. You've known me a day." I said.

"Sometimes," He added, " That's enough time to get to now a person that intrigue you."

"I intrigue you? How?" I asked.

"Easy Jinx," He moved closer to me, never breaking eye contact, " You are one of many mysteries , Jinx, and I am determined to solve you, no matter what." He said quietly.

"Oh, really? I wouldn't waster your time Christopher, I'm sure you have a lot better things to do with your life. And plus, it would take forever and that is time that you, I'm sure do not have." I said turning to face him properly.

"Nope, I have nothing better to do with my life and you want to know something Jinx?" He said, his face a few inches from mine, his breath warm and smelt of mint.

"Hmmm?" I said unable to speak properly.

"Your worth the time." He spoke so quietly , he was almost whispering.

He leaned closer to me, 'O, God,' I thought,' He's gonna kiss me! Stop him! Stop him! ' But I couldn't, I was shocked that he was even trying to make an effort to get to know me, at the same time I was trying to arrange my thoughts as they were scattered around in my head.

He was less than an inch when the door opened and we both jumped back in shock.

It was the nurse. " You can go now, dears'. It's a few minutes early, but ,oh well." She smiled.

"Oh, erm, Thanks"I said, feeling my face going red, retrieving my bag from the corner of the room. Never did I ever think I would be so happy to see the old lady, in my life.

I left the nurses office without another word to anyone.

"Jinx! Hey, Jinx, wait up!" It was Chris again. I kept walking. 'Faster,Faster!' I commanded myself as I arrived at the school car park.

I got to my black convertible and started the ignition. I started to reverse. I slammed on the breaks. Chris was standing behind the car. I revved the engine hoping he would move at the way, but instead he moved round the car and opened my door.

"Hey, What was that for?" He asked, his eyes looked hurt by my action.

"Get out my way,Christopher! Leave me alone!" I yelled at him.

When other people get angry, they see red. I on the other hand see blood purple. My vision was blurred by the color dripping from the school, every inch.

"Hey, Hey. Whats up?" He asked taken-a-back.

"The sky, Christopher, Now please out of my way, Before......" I didn't finish my sentence,I couldn't. I didn't want to think what my curse might cause next. I was close blindness as the blood purple thickened over the school ground. Everywhere I looked, it was there.

"Jinx, nothing bad is going to happen to you or me." He tried to reassure me.

"You still don't get it, do you!," I told him, "You will end up getting hurt if you stay around me. So, do us both a favor and save the suffering, stay away from me, Christopher." I looked him in the eye. He looked shocked by my sudden outburst, but I knew if I didn't get away quickly, we both will be paying the price.

"Jinx-" He said , but didn't seem to know what else to say. But he still didn't step away from my car.

I took a deep breath to calm myself and the purple started to fade. I closed my eyes for a moment and summoned so much concentration my head began to throb. I reopened my eyes feeling the sudden warmth of the fire within me.

I stared into Christopher's' brown eyes and said " Christopher, step away from the car and go home," I took a deep breath and continued ," and forget ever meeting me, okay? When you see me tomorrow you will hate me. You hate me from now on. Understand?"

He nodded slowly. I blinked and the fire vanished. Without saying another word Christopher stepped away from the car and walked away. I closed the car door and drove out of the car park, my head still throbbing.
