Aliyah's POV
It's raining hard and the wind is strong, whipping my car from side to side on the empty road to my mother's house. I should've just went back to the hotel or just stated with August, I have no idea what possessed to come here. The drive took a shorter time than always and before I know it I was pulling into my mother's driveway.
After ringing the doorbell a couple time she finally opens the door. She's wearing sweats and a tanktop with a black robe with her hair in a messy bun. One of the few times I have seen her like this.
"Why didn't you call before you came here?" was the first thing she said to me.
"Hello mother, how are you?" I ask ignoring her question.
"Sorry darling but seriously what are you doing here?" Her voice a little better than before.
"I didn't know I had to have a reason to visit you." I say
"I know Liyah, but you still should've call first plus I am not even dresses." She says
"Mom, what the hell do you need to get dress for? It's just me!"
"Language." She warns and she curse more than me.
"And that's still no excuse to look messy." She glares
"Okay." I say just to stop the conversation because she's just ridiculous.
"Where are your bags?" She asks
"They're in the car, I'll got get them when the rain stops." I tell her
"What are you wearing?" Her eyes roaming my body with a judgemental look on her face.
"Mom it's just jeans and a top. I like it."
"If you could hardly it a blouse, it's far too revealing but it's cute I guess."
"Thanks I guess." I say at her poor excuse of a complement.
"I received a call from the Reyes' family yesterday." She says.
"And what does that have to do with me."
"They miss seeing you so I was wondering if we should invite them over for dinner tonight."
"Mom that's not a good idea." I say
"Why not?" She asks pouring herself a cup of coffee.
