Aliyah's Pov
Jerome ended up staying the whole night, but nothing happened. Yes, he did try, but that's how he is. We just talked the whole night and play around. I talked about August and he told that he didn't have anyone in his life at the moment. It felt good just to vent to someone about your feelings and they don't judge you. I told him everything that happened with me and August, well not everything because he didn't need to know certain things.
He convinced me to take the offer of going to California and I'm actually happy I took it because I really don't want to be here anymore. I like it here in New Orleans, but I want no I need to get away for a while and what better place to go than California.
"Hey babe" Jerome greeted me in the elevator.
"Jerome stop" I said laughing a little
"Can't take a joke ma" He chuckled and I rolled my eyes playfully.
We waited silently until the elevator stopped then we walked out together. The lady at the front desk gave me a dirty look as we walked pass. We walked to the parking lot in comfortable silence, Jerome reached his Mercedes-Benz which was two cars down from Symone - who I really need to call. I took my keys from my bag opening the car getting immediately getting goosebumps. I shivered at I put the key in the ignition and tried starting it, but it would't start. I tried it several times, but still nothing.
"C'mon" I begged turning the key again, but like before I got nothing. I sighed leaning back into the seat.
"Need some help" I heard someone said making me turn to the glass to see Jerome. I smiled opening the door so he had access to try. I got out the car and he took a seat and turned the key, but nothing happened. He tried it several times after, but nothing happened.
"You probably going to have to bring it to a mechanic" He said
"I know" I sighed
"Do you wan't me to bring you to class?" He ask getting out the car
"Yes, please" I said and he nodded slamming the door shot. I put the keys in my bag and followed him to his car.
"Thank you" I said closing the door
"For what?" He ask driving off
"For giving me a ride and last night" I said and he nodded
"Rome put your seat belt on" I said and he chuckled
"I'm serious" I said glaring at him
"Alright" he chuckled pulling his seat belt with his free hand.
"Still the same Aliyah huh" He said taking a quick look at me
"Was I suppose to change?" I ask
