"Earth to Jade!"
Dirk's loud voice startled the hell out of me. I returned my eyes to him. "What did you say?"
He shook his head slowly, then drove his attention back to his plate. "You're not even listening," he murmured while slicing the pancake.
"I do," I denied, pretending that my mind didn't drift away for awhile in the middle of our conversation.
He gave me a quizzing look after putting a spoonful of pancake in his mouth. "What did I say then?"
"Don't talk when your mouth is full, Dirk."
"Wrong."
"I know, Captain Obvious. Please swallow your food first for God's sake," I told him, slightly disgusted. When will my brother learn good table manners?
He quickly drank his orange juice after checking his watch. "Shit. I'm late for my class," he exclaimed, grabbing his backpack beside him. "See you tomorrow," he said, running to the door.
"Wait, what?!" I called out, standing up from my chair. "What do you mean tomorrow? Where are you going tonight?"
Dirk looked at me, disappointed. "I knew it. You weren't listening," he sighed out. "We have to finish our Science group project tonight. The group decided to do it in Nate's house. We'll go straight to school tomorrow so I'll be home in the afternoon."
I definitely didn't hear him when he said it to me earlier. Crap. My mind was still in a haze because of what happened last night. "Did you bring your clothes? Your toothbrush?"
He frowned. "I'm not a kid anymore. Of course, I did." He opened the door and sprinted outside. "Bye!" he yelled before driving away with his bike.
I went back to the kitchen to finish my breakfast. My pancake was still untouched. Geez. I really thought too much.
I finished my breakfast and took the plates to the sink to wash them. When I was done, I arranged the chairs around the table. My cheeks heated up when I reached the exact spot where Harry was seated in front of me last night.
Something inside me fluttered madly when the image of Harry smiling playfully between my legs flashed in my head. I bit my lip, my legs slightly twitching when I remembered how he ate me last night, like I was a food he couldn't wait to taste.
I quickly shove the memories away. If I would continue, I would be late for work.
I did my daily morning routine and after thirty minutes I was already on my way to my job. The bus stopped, I went down and walked to Hollister which was just a few blocks away.
Marty and Leslie were already there, cleaning around. I went inside and they greeted me with smiling faces.
"Morning, Jade!" Leslie chirped, her face bright.
"Hi, Jay!" Marty exclaimed, waving at me while arranging the clothes of the mannequins. "How are you?"
I gave them a smile. "Tired," I said, heading to the counter.
"Tired?" Marty asked, approaching me. "Oh, Jade. I'm so sorry if I left you early yesterday. Did a lot of costumers arrive after I left?"
"No, Marts. I'm just exhausted." I told him, which was true. My legs and knees felt like marshmallows. Like they would give up on me any moment and I knew why. Harry literally stretched my legs apart like there was no tomorrow.
"You didn't sleep well?" Leslie asked.
"Yeah."
Marty looked worried. "Why? Did something happen?"
