Chapter 14

Hallie P. O. V.
"Omggggg" she squealed I was on the phone with Jaymi. "Your so lucky!" She said to me. I told her exactly what my mom had said.

*Flash Back to 10 minutes ago*
I walked into my house heading to my room when my mom sat me down. "Mrs. Lawson sadly passed today" she said. "You mean she died?" I said. "I'm afraid so. That poor family, Ever must be such a lonely child. His mother almost dead for years, his grandma getting Alzheimers right when his father is going away for 3 months.״ my mom said. I replied "ya, I know. I feel so bad for the Lawson's." "That's why I've invited Ever to stay with our family for the time being" she said. ״Mother, are you being serious?" "Yep, he's moving into the guest room next to yours in about an hour." I walked upstairs with a stunned look on my face.

*presnt time*

"How am I lucky? I hate him, and everything about him.״ I said to her. "What about his face? You must love his face!" She said. "Ok. Besides his extreme hotness I hate him!" "Think about it though. He'll have friends over all the time." Jaymi said. "Exactly he'll have friends over all the time." I groaned "and I'm gonna have to see her too". "Who's her" jaymi asked. "Seriously! McKenna duh!" I said. "Ugh the bitch, ur gonna hear her sexing it up" jaymi said. "EW STOP" I shouted. "Fine, just know......

I'm sleeping over tonight!!" She said as she hung up. I got a text a couple minutes later saying il be over at 7 from Jaymi. I sat at my desk and started to work on my Homework. Math was hard, but nothing's too hard for me!"

About half an hour later I heard him walk in. He talked to my mom for a minute. I heard him saying that he was gonna just take his stuff upstairs. He walked upstairs . He stopped when he got to my room. He put his bag down and smiled at me.  "Hey roomie" he spoke. "Actually, this is my room and we aren't sharing therefore were not roomies" I said proudly. He replied "fine, housies". Ew I thought, he's already a jerk.

Ever, my mom, and I sat around the dinner table. My mom had made tofu and Caesar salad. Ever looked at the tofu confused. I grabbed the dish from his side of the table and put half of it on my plate. I love tofu, being a vegetarian and all. He ate the salad on his plate staring down the entire time. I could tell he was trying hard not to make eye contact with either of us. I guess my mom didn't notice "So Ever it's so lovely to have you!" She said. "Oh, thanks for having me Mrs. Shae." He replied. "Oh no problem and please call me Janet." my mom kept talking. "tell us about yourself? Do you like school? Do you play sports? Do you have lots of friends? A girlfriend?". "Mom, stop interrogating him. It's creepy and personal" I shouted. Ever laughed "oh it's fine, I don't mind". My mom said "I told you, sorry Ever, continue?"

Ever answered all her questions " So I'm Ever Lawson as you obviously know, I don't know why I introduced myself.... Umm anyways schools okay. I mean I don't enjoy it, but I get straight A's and I'm on the football team. My main friend group is Me, Michael Trent, Jess foster, Logan holland, August York. There all cool. We've been friends since grade 4. Anything else... Oh ya McKenna my girlfriend she's new this year to the school she's in grade 10." I almost spit out my water. Even though I assumed they were, just saying it was shocking. "How lovely, do you know her Hallie?" My mom said. "Drama." I said. "Oh well since Ever will be here a couple months you guys should become friends" she said. "I don't know, she's not really my kinda person" I looked straight at Ever. My mom said "That's rude Hallie, we have a friend of hers right here. Ever, if she wants to come over here she's absolutely welcome." "Ok great il text her, maybe she can come over after dinner." He said but then my mom said  "ask if she wants to sleepover with Hallie and jaymi". This time I really did spit out my water. My mom just glared at me. There was no way out of this. Ever silently laughed. Ughhhh

Jaymi walked in. I yelled "Guess who else is sleeping over with us". "I don't know, who?" She said. "MCKENNA" I screamed. "Wtf? Why? How?" Jaymi said. "My mom told Ever to invite her. Of course they thought that was a great idea because they hate me and want to ruin my life" I said. "No, I'm so excited omg" jaymi said. "Ugh no" I complained. "I'm sooooo excited ah!" She kept saying.

Then I saw her. She walked up the driveway in her salt and pepper roots sweatpants, black v-neck crop top halter tank top, sperrys, and a knapsack. "I'm not answering the door" I said and I grabbed jaymi'S arm and pulled her upstairs.
