I was in a questionable bar with a few other Death Eaters. I was now more of an undercover friend of Lily and James - I had seen how much damage Voldemort did to the ones I loved."Yeah, well, at least we've got a couple of those aurors out of the way now."
"What do you mean?" I fake-chuckled, but inside I was growling.
"The Potters. The mudblood and the blood-traitor? Apparently, the Dark Lord is getting them out of the way tonight." One of them laughed.
No. "Sorry, I have to go!" I ran out of the bar, sent a quick patronus to Sirius, and apparated as close to their little house as I could.
I couldn't go very close at all. The wards were very strong.
I broke into a run. Please let Lily and James and Harry be alright. Please let it not be too late. I knew that I could hold Voldemort off long enough for them to get away. I ran faster.
I got to the house. It was half destroyed. "No!" I screamed.
They could still be alive. Maybe they had killed him.
But Sirius was sitting on the steps. He held baby Harry in his arms.
Of course he had gotten there sooner. His motorbike.
"Bella." His voice was mangled. "Bella, don't go in. You don't want to see it."
I crumpled to the ground. Everybody. Everbody I loved died.
"Harry. Harry is okay." I managed.
"We'll watch him." Sirius vowed, and I nodded. I would not sneak around, be a double agent anymore. I would protect Harry, Sirius, Remus, and Peter. I would not let any harm come to any of them. Except...
"Peter." I breathed. "Fuck. No. No way."
Sirius gritted his teeth. "That bastard."
"I'm going to kill him." I stood up, anger replacing grief for a brief moment.
"No. No, Bella, listen. You can't! Let the aurors deal with it, okay?"
I sunk to the ground again, all purpose lost. "Lily and James..." my words scratched against my throat.
I screamed. It was loud and gasping and horrible.
A dark shape loomed over me. "I'm sorry." It said.
"Hagrid." I looked up into the half-giant's face.
"Bellatrix." he awkwardly patted my head, and then looked at Sirius. "Afraid 'm gonna have ter take young Harry, here, Sirius. Dumbledore's orders." Hagrid patted Sirius's head, too.
"No." I stood up. "Listen, we're his god parents. You can't."
"Dumbledore's orders." Hagrid shrugged.
"Take my bike." Sirius begged. "It's the least I can do. Take my bike."
His precious motorbike.
I gasped into tears and watched as Hagrid took away the only thing I had left of James and Lily.

That night, something inside me changed. I don't know what.
All I know is that I blacked out. When I woke up, Alice and Frank Longbottom were in front of me, with a terrible faraway look in their eyes.
"What the hell..." I murmured. Suddenly, a bunch of aurors burst in.
"Grab them." One of them said. I felt myself being pulled into an apparition.
We landed. I vomited.
It finally sunk in. Somehow, I had done that to them.
I blacked out again.

When I woke up for the second time, I was in an Azkaban cell.
Things had escalated so quickly...
"Hello?" I asked. "Anybody there?"
"Bella?" A familiar voice called out. "Bonewing! Bella!"
Oh god. Sirius. "Sirius! What did you do?"
"Tried to kill Peter. He killed a bunch of people and escaped in his rat form. The dick blamed it on me."
"Well, at least one of us is innocent." I moaned. Alice. And Frank. How could I?
"What did you do?" He asked, bored.
"Apparently, I tortured Frank and Alice Longbottom to insanity." I choked it out.
"What?" He roared. "I should have guessed! You helped Peter, too, didn't you?!"
"No." I said wearily. "I think I'm mad. I blacked up. Next thing I knew, I was in here, imprisoned for torturing two of my friends till they were insane. I did it, it's my fault. But I wasn't conscious."
"God, we're so fucked up."
"You have that right."
