Chapter 40

During the car ride it was a bit awkward. At least for me, Shaun acted like nothing even happened. The only hint I got that showed he was uncomfortable was that he wouldn't directly look at me expect when he was talking to me and even then he didn't look at me that much.

Somehow, we got there first which was weird because Charlie had practically zipped right out of the driveway and to the gym. "They are still dead." Shaun mumbled which I nodded and agreed to.

"I'll make Steve have them run." He chuckled and nodded as we headed inside.

"So why were you running with Jisa's phone?" I smirked.

"Well at first I was just being a bit nosy and then I realized that I was turning into Dani so I dropped the phone and ran back to the house." He looked at me before shaking his head, not surprised at all which made me snickered as we walked through the door.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!? ARE YOU TRYING TO GET KILLED?" Woah, was that Julian? The time he yells like that is when a newb tries to show off and Steve's not there.

On instinct, I ran to the parkour area with Shaun on my heels. Low and behold there was a guy groaning on the mats with Julian over them seething. When Steve is Steve, it's scary. When he's pissed off, stay the hell away. Now when Julian is pissed, you better hope you die quickly.

Before I could stop him, Julian started scolding the kid and he looked really creepy/scary at that moment. Where's Steve? I looked around while Shaun was shocked and staring at Julian with a gaping mouth. "Hope you don't eat a fly?" I mumbled as I pushed his jaw back up, snapping him out of it.

"Sorry, just...who knew Julian could be terrifying." I ran a hand through my hair as I thought of the onetime Julian scolded me because Steve wasn't there and I almost got hurt. I rather have Steve yell at me than Julian's quiet yet deadly scolding.

"Yeah...now where's Steve?" We both looked around as we tried to find the bald coach.

"There," Shaun pointed to the office where the door was slightly ajar and Steve was sitting at his desk, doing paperwork and on closer look I realized he was wearing headphones so that's why he didn't hear Julian since we heard him from the front door.

"Damn it Steve." I ran over to the office and opened the door some more before going inside. "Coach!" He didn't hear me. I sighed before going up to him and pulling out an earbud. "Coach!" He didn't jump, sadly, but he did seem surprised when he looked at me.

"Taylor? When did you get here?" I sighed and shook my head.

"I just did now go save one of your students before Julian kills them!"

"Say what now?" I rolled my eyes at him before pointing to outside the office and to where Julian was still scolding that poor guy. "Oh shit. Julian!" Steve ran out, knowing exactly how Julian gets when you actually do manage to tick him off.

"I was not expecting that..." Shaun commented as we slowly walked over to the scene. I nodded in agreement as I watched Steve go up and quickly grab his student and spoke to him with his back slightly turned to Julian to keep him away from the student.

"Yeah first and only time Julian did that to me, pretty sure I was going to cry." Shaun looked at me with wide eyes while I just nodded with a straight face on as I tried not to remember that day; possibly the worst day of my life.

Shaun looked over as we got closely and just slowly shook his head with a sigh. I'm with you man."Hey so what's going on?"

Huh? He rolled his eyes at my face before restating, "Dani had told us that something was going on with your parents?"
