The first and second periods went by fast. Shaun walked me between classes and held my backpack despite my protests. Then Shaun met me outside of second and after rolling my eyes I let him grab my bag. We walked to third together.
"Did you run up here?" I asked him remembering that he has to climb the stairs to get to third period. He shrugged and I smiled. "I don't know if that's adorable or concerning"
He gave me an innocent smile. "How about adorable?" We laughed and walked into third. We were still joking and laughing till I looked and saw who Mr. Bailer was talking to. Are you kidding me right now?
His back was turned towards us so I just walked to my seat and put down the crutches. Shaun followed right behind me and didn't say a word as he sat next to me. I glanced back and saw Mr. Bailer looking around with Kane right next to him. Our eyes met again and he smirked at me. Rolling my eyes, I turned back around and I tapped my thigh with my hand.
Of course, I would have a class with him. Bad enough he's going to the same school, now I have a class with him? What the hell world!? A hand suddenly gripped mine under the desks. Glancing to my right, Shaun gave me a reassuring smile as he held my hand tightly. At least I'm not alone. I smiled back.
"Taylor!" Mr. Bailer called my name.
"Yes?" I looked back and he was motioning for me to come, apparently not realizing the crutches next to me belong to me and not Charlie who was sitting to my right. "I can't."
"Why...oh those crutches are yours?" I nodded. "Never mind, Oscar come here." I sighed out of relief as I realized he was calling me up there so that I could help Kane catch up and so Kane can sit at our table. Really glad I twisted my knee right now.
Oscar was one of the other super smart people besides me in our class and his table is on the other side of the room near the front by Mr.Bailer's desk. The seat Kane had to sit in was facing the teacher's desk so his back was to us. I almost sighed again in relief. Okay, so this isn't going to be too bad.
Shaun squeezed my hand one last time before letting go and going back to work on the worksheet. My hand felt cold, it actually seemed right to have his hand on mine. My romantic lonely self is coming out. That's it, no more love stories for me. Granted I say that now but in another week I'll be reading a love story online.
Shaking my head slightly, I went back to the worksheet in front of me. At least till Adam who was sitting across from me rolled up a piece of paper and tried to throw it. At the last moment, Charlie reached up and deflected it, making it only go a foot away. Into my face. They looked at me with wide eyes. Oh, this is going to be fun. I sent them each a glare and they backed away from me some.
I glared at Charlie and reached a hand up. At once he backed off and then suddenly he was close to falling out of his desk. Then I shot a glare at Adam and started reaching over to him. Now both of them were trying to get away from me so they were close to falling out of their desks. Smirking I used my good leg and kicked Adam's desk making him fall on his back with a loud thump.
Everyone froze and stared at him before laughing. Charlie was laughing too till he realized how close he was to falling out but all it took was me bumping his desk with my elbow to make him fall out and that caused the class to break out in fits of laughter.
I was dying in my seat as the two boys slowly got up grumbling words under their breaths. Then a cold voice sounded behind me. "Now that wasn't nice of you Tay."
