I'm sorry for such a late update. A lot has been going on and school work hasn't helped. As part of my apology I made this chapter extra long.

Chapter 7

I woke up monday morning to my alarm blasting Highway to hell. How ironic I thought as I turned it off and got ready for school.

I was still munching on my breakfast bar when I plopped down into my chair in English. I was a couple minute early so I pulled out my earbuds and hit shuffle on my phone. I was tapping my foot to the beat when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I pulled out my earbuds and looked to my right to see a petite girl with dark brown hair and almost black eyes. She reminded me of a snake with her lengthy arms and legs and her predator like stare.

"Can I help you?" I asked as I subtly scooted away from her judging stare and scowl.

"Ya actually you can." She said as she leaned towards me. "Luke may not be my mate but he is mine so you better stay away from him."

I stared at her before I started laughing which only caused her eyes to darken.

"First off I don't even know who you are, and secondly I have a mate so you can retract your fangs and claws." I said as she gave a low hiss. "Thirdly Luke and I are just friends and he never once mentioned a girlfriend so I think you should deflate your over possessive ego and go take a "chill the hell out pill".

If looks could kill, i'd be six feet under right now. Being the third in command Jade didn't like the challenging look the crazy chick had in her eye. My eyes shifted to green as Jade stared back daring her to challenge us and let out a low growl. After only a couple seconds she bared her neck in defeat and slapped her hand on her desk in anger. Mr.Smith had just walked in as she did this and shot her a warning look.

"Grace if you break your desk you will be sent to the office. Is that clear?"

Grace mumbled a "yes sir" as she glared at me. I sent her a smirk.

The class passed quickly and Grace was smart enough not to talk anymore. After the bell rung she gathered her things and practically ran from the room. I went into the hall to be pulled into the strong embrace off my mate. I smiled up at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips when I felt someone's eyes on me. I simply ignored it thinking it was a disapproving look of a passer by as Xavier walked me to my next class.

I walked into shifting history mentally preparing myself for the boring lecture Mrs.scarlet was sure to give. I was just about to give up and pull out my phone when a boy sat next to me and shot me a warm smile. He had spiked up hair that was dyed pink at the tips and wore a buttoned up light blue shirt with blue skinny jeans rolled up to his ankles.

"Hi im Evan. I haven't got to introduce myself yet and you don't seem to have a GBF so here I am." He said cheerfully and handed me a small piece of paper with a phone number on it.

"Hi i'm Piper." I replied with a small smile as I put the paper into my pocket with a mental note to add it in my phone later.

"So how do you like it here so far?"

"Well it's much nicer than my last school and I already found my mate" I said already feeling relaxed around him.

"Wow really? Thats so sweet! I found my mate here as well. His name's James we'll all have to hang out some time.

The class passed by quickly as I listened to Evan talk about his mate and recent events going on around school. I left as the bell rung and headed to my free period with Cody. We had a few short conversations as we started on our school work. We had just finished writing our essays for english when I decided to break the silence.
