Chapter 1 | Club Nix

Barging into Sabrina's bedroom, Brittany walked in with her phone tightly gripped in her hand. She was bursting with excitement to tell her friend the great news. She didn't know how she was going to react, but she knew that Sabrina needed to revamp her life. Brittany hopped on Sabrina's bed and laid on her side watching Sabrina stress herself out with the extremely thick medical textbook sitting on her desk.

"You know you need a break, babes." Brittany said as she rolled onto her back with her eyes on the back of Sabrina's head. Brittany really hated how Sabrina was wasting the prime of her life. She knew Sabrina was focusing to finish up her last year and a quarter of med school before she started her residency, but Brittany could see how it was eating her up mentally.

"I just had a break." Sabrina said without looking up. She referred to her shower and bathroom time to be the break that she needed when she was in study mode. She had a final exam to take next week and she wanted to make sure her 4th ranking didn't drop to ensure her ideal residency location was locked in place.

"Not a bathroom break, a díck break." Sabrina immediately looked up and studied her friend to make sure she wasn't going insane mentally. Sabrina knew law school was rotting away Brittany's brain, but she didn't know it was that bad. "When was the last time you had good díck, not any díck, but good díck?"

"Brittany the world doesn't revolve around men." Sabrina said before placing her note card in her book to keep her place.

"Don't forget the late great Etta James words 'this is a man's world', but look I scheduled a blind date for you tonight." Sabrina's eyebrows shot up immediately.

"Cancel it." She said without question. Brittany sat up on Sabrina's bed with her phone still in her hand on the same screen that she'd been on since she came into their shared apartment.

"Look he's really good-looking. He's sweet, honorable, and muscular. The top three things that matter. It's just a plus that he owns a very successful business." Brittany said while handing over the phone to Sabrina so she could see him. Brittany could see with the look on Sabrina's face that Sabrina seemed interested in Leonardo.

"What kind of business?" Sabrina questioned remembering what her past brought to her. She'd dealt with a guy in high school that swore by selling drugs and didn't decide to tell her until she was kidnapped due to a bad trade. That was an experience that she could live without having again.

"Two restaurants: Mangia Bene and Rosalie's. He's so sweet to have named his second restaurant after his mother. Don't you think that it's sweet that he named the second restaurant after his mother? That's pure sweetness." Brittany said still trying to convince Sabrina to go out with him. Brittany threw around the word sweet multiple times to try and push the fact that he had a reputation for being a good guy.

"If he's so great why don't you go out with him?" Sabrina questioned with a smirk, knowing that this "Leonardo" guy sound too good to be true.

"So Michael can kill me? I'd rather not cheat on my fiancé." Brittany said with laughter in her voice. "Just please go out with him. If he doesn't work out then I won't even push the subject of you dating again until you're done with med." Sabrina raised an eyebrow at the proposal. She knew it was too good of a deal, since Brittany pestered her every week.

"Okay, fine. When's the date?"

Brittany bit into her bottom lip, "Eight at Moca Bella's."

Sabrina grabbed her phone on the desk and her eyes widened when she saw that it was five o'clock. "Thanks for telling me at the last minute!" Sabrina yelled out as she made her way to her bathroom. She made quick work of cleaning up and slid on a form-fitting dress to hug the little curves that she had.
