Chapter 3 | Mysterious Beauty

The loud ringtone caused Carter to roll around on his side with his arm over his eyes. He didn't feel the need to answer the phone especially since it sounded like it was on the other side of the room entirely. He let it go off before turning on his side only to have the space beside him empty. Carter's eyes shot open and he looked around the room only to find it empty.

Carter jumped out of bed quickly and went to the bathroom only for it to turn up empty also. Walking back into the room, her dress was missing but his little sister's pajamas was folded neatly where her dress was last night.

"Shit man," Carter let out an exasperated sigh and sat on the edge of the bed. His phone began to ring once again, so he grabbed it out of his jeans on the floor and answered it. "Wassup?" Carter said into the phone without an introduction. It was his business phone and he wanted to get straight to the point so he could think about a way to find his mystery woman.

If he at least knew her name he could make one of his tech's look for her, but he honestly didn't know anything about her except that he wanted her. Running his hand over his face, Carter caught the end of the sentence Drag, one of this trusted men, was saying. "Repeat that."

"Left field was robbed by someone from the inside." Carter groaned and fell back on his bed causing him to get a whiff of food. A small smile grew on his face before sitting up and going into the bathroom.

"How do you know it was someone from the inside?" Carter questioned as he grabbed his toothbrush and began brushing his teeth as Drag explained.

"The left field has three safes you know. Yours, the food freezer, and the profits. The money was taken out of your profits."

"How much?" Carter questioned after he spit his toothpaste into the sink.

"75. I questioned them about it but nobody is stepping up." Cleaning out his mouth thoroughly, Carter put up his toothbrush and wet his face.

"Make sure the other three are in the meeting room, you included. Get Rouge to join y'all."

"Boss you know I'd nev-"

"Do as I said," Carter stated cutting him off. "When I get there y'all better be there or else." Carter hung up the phone and threw the phone unto his bed as he walked out of the bedroom. He took his time getting to the kitchen where he heard oil popping and the smell of his bacon.

Rounding the corner, where he expected to see his Beauty, he instead saw his little sister. Carter was slightly disappointed but didn't show it on his face. "What's up Chrissy?" He asked before leaning down and kissing her on her forehead. Carter loved his little sisters and did everything in his power to protect them from anything that might hurt them.

Carter always knew when his mother first told them that she had cancer, handling his little sisters were going to be a challenge. All three of his sisters were beautiful not just in his eyes, but in society's also. He knew it was going to be hard keeping guys away. He didn't know how much longer he could protect them, but they were his main priorities in his life.

"I should be asking you that." Tina questioned while looking at her brother from the corner of her eye. "I see you have a new girl added to your little set."

"You saw her?" Carter asked surprised. He thought she left in the middle of the night not in the early morning since he would have at least woke up if she made even the slightest noise. "Did you talk to her?"

"Not really just hi and bye, she left a little note on the mirror for you since she didn't have a pen." Christina watched Carter quickly leave the kitchen and she simply shook her head. She didn't know if Carter was infatuated or completely lusting after the woman she saw this morning, but he clearly felt something for her surprisingly. Tina flipped the bacon over and quickly speed dialed her twin sister Christy to tell her the news.
