Chapter 12 | Emotionally Official

Carter watched the sun hit Sabrina's face complimenting the natural arch of her eyebrow. Her big cheeks, now seemingly small because of gravity, aiding in the beauty though she had a scar on her left cheek. Her top lip slightly twitched as it did every so often when she was in deep sleep.

How could I fall in love with her so easily?

Was it the way she laughed? Was it the way she'd stop whatever she was doing to help him no matter what? Was it the fact that she reminded him of his mother? He continued to watch her as if she was a movie and everything about her interested him.

How could I not fall in love with her so easily?

She was everything he wanted a woman when he eventually settled down, but did he want to settle? Carter had no plans of getting married before the age of thirty, but Sabrina was changing all of his thoughts.

He always thought he'd try to wife a female with big assets, but instead fell in love with a woman who had enough of both assets to keep him satisfied. Smiling in satisfaction that he was really in love, Carter kissed Sabrina both on the cheek and forehead before rolling out of bed.

Carter washed up for the day and ate cereal for breakfast since Sabrina had not yet woken up to make breakfast. Carter thought about attempting to make breakfast but since the last time he almost burned the kitchen down, he decided it was best to live off cereal before eating later.

He scrolled through his phone and sent a text to Tim to confirm that the helicopter was ready, before sending a text to Robert to pick a set time for them to pick up the helicopter. Carter was low-key excited about the day. He hadn't flown in a helicopter in almost two years now.

After making sure everything was set for the day before putting his bowl in the dishwasher and going upstairs to get ready.

"You know we still have to talk." Robert said as he was looking over the lunch menu at a new burger restaurant. Being away from greasy foods for so long had him feening for something could make him that'll make him want to hit the gym afterwards.

"About Sabrina?" Carter questioned as he too was looking over the menu, but not for what he was having but out of nervousness since it seemed to be more at stake now than before since the depth of his feelings were now known to him.

"Yeah, Sabrina is my little sister, she's my world. She's one of the two women I'd kill someone over because I don't want anything to happen to her." Robert said as he put the menu down to intensify his words. "Now if you truly feel something for her then I'm not trying to end whatever you guys have going on, but if you're just trying to play, I'd stop now while you're not harmed." Robert said meaning every word with every inch of his being. He loved his little sister and didn't want to see her get hurt by anyone or anything.

Carter understood where Robert was coming from because he wouldn't want his little sisters to get hurt either, but he also knew he didn't want Sabrina to get hurt as well. Instead of voicing his thoughts Carter simply nodded a few times in understanding before speaking. "I don't want Sabrina getting hurt either, I love her and if her happiness is in my hands, you don't have to worry about anything."

"Does she know that you love her?" Carter shook his head no just as the waitress came to take their order and deliver their drinks. "You should tell her. She loves you, I could see it yesterday with the way she looked at you."

Hearing that made Carter's heart throb. Sabrina didn't typically try to share her feelings with him. That was just the way they were; sex and sex. That was one of the things that feared him the most when it came down to it. He'd never opened up his heart the way he was with Sabrina and he didn't want her to break his heart when she probably just thought he wanted just sex just as she does.
