11 - Chloe Hunt

It's a Friday night. Dad and Ilsa were having a date at the house. Turns out at 10 o'clock, they fell asleep on the couch. Ilsa was sleeping on Dad's chest, while Dad has an arm wrapped around her. I'm not doing much. I'm just reading another Young Adult book in my room. I hear my phone ring. It's Hunley. I don't know why he's calling this late. I answer it.

     "Hello?"

     "Hey Chloe."

     "Hey, Brandt! What's going on?"

     "Nothing. I just wanted to thank you for saving Luther and I; and for being a fantastic asset in the IMF. You have no idea how wonderful you are, Chloe."

     "You're right. I don't."

     He laughs. "I'm serious. Luther wanted me to tell you "thank you", too. Also, Jake said he loves you very much."

     "Well, I love him, too. And Luther is very welcome."

     "Goodnight, Chloe. We'll need you more in the future."

     "Thanks. Goodnight."

     "Bye." I end the phone call, letting out a smile. That feels good to hear. More deadly missions for me!
