Chapter 17- Training The Kid

(Mia's P.O.V.)

Today was the day you and Raph were going to start training Beth. She would also get her ninja mask. Everyone knew except her. She was still asleep in her bedroom. At least you thought she was. "Boo!" Beth yelled jumping over the couch. Everyone jumped except Mikey who was laughing. "Good job squirt." He said. "Thanks Uncle Mikey." Beth said grinning.

"You put her up to this?" Raph asked. "Actually it was all her idea she just let me in on the plan." Mikey said. "Oh really?" Raph then turned his attention to Beth. "I'm just gonna run now." Beth said taking off. "Come here you!" Raph said chasing after her.

"Mom help me!" Beth yelled running around the living room. "Sorry you got yourself into this one you can get yourself out." You said. Beth just kept running and running until Raph caught her. "Now what to do with you?" Raph asked. "Let me go?" Beth asked. "I don't think so. How about we start your training?" "No anything but...wait what did you say?" "You heard me." Raph said putting Beth down. "You're being serious right now?" Raph nodded and Beth started jumping up and down.

"I'm gonna be a ninja! I'm gonna be a ninja!" She yelled as Master Splinter walked into the room. "And do you know what every ninja needs?" He asked. "Weapons to beat the shell out of people with." Beth said. "Definitely Raph's kid." Leo said. "Not quite." Master Splinter said and then handed Beth a black ninja mask. "Ok that works to. Thank you Master Splinter." Beth then walked over to you.

"Mom can you help me put on my mask?" She asked. You nodded taking the mask and tieing it around her head. "Now I can be a real ninja." Beth said getting into somewhat of a fighting stance. You laughed and so did the others. "Not quite yet. You have to learn the basics first." You said. "Are the basics how to punch and kick people?" "No they're connecting the mind and body." "Boring!" "It's where we all started Beth. The connection between the mind and body is very important."

"Fine I'll give it a try." Beth said. You all went the the dojo. Everyone sat in a circle. "Now Beth the key to meditation is to relax and to not worry about anything else. Just focus on what you are doing." Master Splinter said. Beth closed her eyes and began trying to meditate. "This is so stupid." Beth said opening her eyes. "Well you have to do it. Keep trying." You said.

Beth tried again and again. She just couldn't get it. "I give up." She said. "We can be done for today if you want. We'll keep working on it though. You'll get it someday." You said. Everyone was in a deep trance. You and Beth went to the living room. "Mom I have a question." She said. "What is it?" You asked. "Why do I look like dad and not like you?" "Well you see when your dad and I had you our DNA got split up so part of his DNA is in you and so is part of mine. Your dad's DNA determined that you look like a turtle."

Beth nodded slowly sort of understanding. Raph, Leo, and Mikey walked into the living room. "So how'd you like your first lesson?" Leo asked. "I hated it. It was boring and stupid. I just wanna learn how to punch stuff." Beth said punching the air. Leo shook his head and Raph smiled. "Well little dudette you gotta learn how to do the stupid stuff before you learn the fun stuff." Mikey said.

"I know but the stupid stuff is just so stupid. I'm hungry." Beth said. "I second that." Mikey said. "Fine I'll go get some pizza." You said standing up and starting to leave. "Can I come mom?" Beth asked. "No sweetheart we've been over this. You can't go topside." You said. "It's not fair. Everyone else gets to go topside except me." Beth then stormed off to her room. "One of you talk to her." You said as you left.

(Raph's P.O.V.)

"One of you talk to her." Mia said as she left. "I'll handle it." I said as I walked to Beth's room. I knocked on the door. "What?" Beth asked in a harsh tone. "Can I come in?" I asked. "Fine." I opened the door to see Beth on her bed staring at the ceiling.
