CHAPTER 5-The proposal

I didn't have a nap, I had a sleep, more than an eight hours sleep on someone else bed. I can feel my back is aching. I didn't know if it's an after effect of my fall out the window extravaganza at the ancestral house yesterday or due to my sleeping position. I took my phone from the night stand and it was already full, ignoring the texts from Katie, it was already 9am. I look around and Luke is no were to be found. I can't remember if he sleeps beside me or not. I get up and look at the mirror beside me. This look of mine right now is passable for a zombie role for the walking dead. Luke's things are all over the floor, it makes me think how his house looks like back in New York. Giving my back a little bit of massage, then the door opens and it was the handsome Luke. "Hey, goo mornin'!" he said

"Good morning! how was your sleep?" I said.

"it was bad, the floor was hard and you snore so loud." He said.

"Opps! Sorry, I was tired." I said, covering my face due to the humiliation

"What's your plan for today? Elea was there already." He said, combing his hair using his hand

"Maybe I'll go to church later and meet Jera and went to Carbon. Thanks, I'll go ahead." I said, picking up my things.

"You go to church?" He asked, with a confuse tone

I didn't know why did he is surprise that I go to church. I just nooded and smile and went outside the room. I can't get mad to the man who let me sleep in his bed when I was room less because of bat-girl Elea. I turn the doorknob of the room and it was looked, but there's obviously someone inside, I can hear the television screaming. She open the door with a towel wrap on her head. I immediately lower down the volume of the television. Place my things on the bed and took the last piece of towel on the cabinet. Elea keeps her eyes on me while brushing her teeth. I ignored her, I don't want to start this day by having an argument with the bat-girl. I pick the shirt that I wear during my first night here in Cebu. I say YES to recycling clothes. I took the paper bag that Auntie Karla gave me, I open it and I saw a note.

Hi Mavis, When I see this dress, I know you would look like a bombshell on it.

P.S please slap my daughter for me for not going here.

It was a black dress from Kate Spades and she was right the dress really looks beautiful. I'm still hoping and praying that one day I would be able to wear dress and the mirror would tell me that I look fucking good on it. Okey, for the record I'm trying to work on wearing dress on public but every time I look at the mirror it's telling that I look like a walking refrigerator with an evil laugh on the end. I put the black dress back on the paper bag. The fucking bat-girl is still looking at me.

"What?" I said.

"You sleep at Luke's room, did you fuck him?" She asked, wiping her potty mouth

"oh shut the fuck up! You bring the fucking key. Nothing happens between the two of us. Maybe it was you who did that with your boyfriend." I said, hanging the towel on the bathroom rod.

I took my undergarments on my bag and when inside the bathroom. Even before I get completely naked I took the towel and wrap it on the body and went outside the bathroom. I took the keys of the hotel room near the door and bring it with me on the bathroom. That's the first and last time I would sleep in someone else's room

I notice that the bat-girl is gone, even her things is gone. I found a note that Elea left on my bed saying that Auntie Karla booked us to another hotel on Clear Reef on Mactan. We are expected to be there later at sundown. I smile, I can't hide the happiness on my face. I can finally enjoy the relaxing view of the sea. I wear my recycle shirt and my 3rd day jeans. This is day is just a regular day and it deserves a regular make up. A little fix on my eyebrow and a orangey metallic lip gloss from TheBalm. No foundation for today, my skin needs to breath from all the happening she experience yesterday. I put on my ever favorite Paris Hilton perfume, hoping that it wouldn't leave me this time.
