Chapter 10: Thanks Nana Brit

It was already 9:30 in the morning, and Luke already went back to Elea's apartment. He waited to me to wake up before he leaves. I just wish he just stay here until he went back to America. I went to the balcony, since it's no longer raining. I stay there while watching Katie and Nana Brit eating their breakfast. My mind is full of Luke memory, I need to keep myself distracted, to somehow forget him. I took my phone and open the Colorfy app, it was a great app, if your into art. I don't love art that much but when I'm on the mood for my paper and pencil I draw a lot. I can be a passable artist, my artwork isn't that good and isn't that bad either it was fine like I said it was passable.

"Hey! Why didn't you eat? You miss him?" Katie asked.

I didn't answer, it best to remain silent with that type of question.

"Mavis, I know I have told you that, you should choose Jay. But the way I see you yesterday. How happy you are when you're with him, it makes me feel that I have choose the wrong guy for you. I'm not saying that Jay was a wrong choice, but that was the first time I have seen you smiling and not faking it. You might be hiding it, but it was obvious that you're happy being with him. It seems that it's now a battle between Jay and Luke." Katie said.

This is the first time, I have feel the sincerity in Katie's words. Before when Katie use to talk to me like that, I immediately think that she needs something from me. Like a favor for washing the dishes or she needed to borrow some money. But her words today, was just pure sincerity. I told Katie what happen between me and Jay on his condominium unit. She was upset with what she heard about the shagging part. Then, I also told him about Aaron's plan and she laugh like a crazy woman. She think Aaron was lying and everything that he told me was a complete bullshit and thinks that I'm the most stupid person because I believe on it. It was mean but that Katie's opinion. Katie doesn't want to hear the Aaron story, because she has been drooling to hear the Luke story. I told him everything that we have talk about, from the photographer thing turned Gunnery Sergeant.

"Why is it that Marines are going crazy over you?" Katie asked.

"Well, can you blame them. I'm the type of girl they wanted to come home too after being away for months." I said, with hair toss attitude.

"No you're not! They just see that round life saver in you. Or they remember whales when they see you. I'll see you later, I'm going to Drake's flat." Katie said, tucking her hair on her ears.

I went inside the apartment since staying on the balcony makes me miss Luke even more. I went to my room. I look at my closet, it was a mess. I arrange it when I have time. Since I have all the time in my life now, now is the time to arrange it. Staring at it makes me tired, I end up closing my closet and forget that I need to clean it. I took my phone and thinking maybe I should call him or text him. But what would I say?

**Hey gunny, wazz up? How's it goin?** "No, I sound stupid on that." I said. *Delete*

**Wanna go out?** "No, I sound like a hooker in this." I said. *Delete*

After 30 minutes of thinking what should I text him, I ended up send him three emoji kissy icon with heart on the end. I just realize that it was worse than the two message I should have text him. Stupid! It can't be undone, it has been send already. Let's just wait how gunny Luke would respond to it. I place the phone on my nightstand and Nana Brit came inside the room.

"Hey, is it okey if you come with me? I'm going to the mall to buy a dress. I have been invited to a wedding." Nana Brit said.

"Of course, I'll just get ready." I said.
