His Mark
[Knowledge is Power]13th October 2016
Thursday"Dude...I'd like to think that what the three of us have is something at least remotely close to friendship..." Aberforth started, as him and Daniel, sat down opposite of me at a table in the far back of the- for the most part, empty library.
We had just finished a rather disastrous Charms class with Gryffindor, where I had managed to blow up a chair at the start of class.
"And we know that you have this; 'perfect Ravenclaw student' facade that you try to put up for the Professors, but the vibes that you have been giving off for the past few days practicality scream; 'Passive Aggressive Slytherin brat'...And also, this letter has been collecting dust on your bedside table- I had to stop Simon from throwing it away...."
Daniel continued, as he placed the- still unopened, now slightly dusty letter that I had received last week Wednesday on the table, and slid it towards me."You should have let him..." I retorted in an unnecessarily aggressive tone, and glared at the letter in front of me.
"You're behaving as if you're going to be dragged off to Azkaban as soon as you open that letter, I'm sure that it isn't th-"
"By Merlin's hairy arse! Give me that!" Aberforth's exasperated voice cut through Daniel's sentence- making him stare indignantly at his blonde friend.
Aberforth in turn teared the letter open, and started to read the its contents- his pale blue eyes widening with each passing second as they hushed over the wrinkled parchment."You mingy bastard," he started-as he looked at me with a mixture of awe and pure disbelief, and showed the letter at a confused Daniel.
"Why didn't you tell us th-"
"You're related to Ollivander?!" Daniel's unsubtle outburst cut Aberforth off mid sentence, and managed to grab the attention of a group of Slytherin girls that had just entered the library."Why don't you just shout it out for everyone to hear!" I growled through clenched teeth, as I grabbed my belongings, and stood up motioning for them to follow me outside- away from the prying eyes and ears of whom I had recognized as Cordelia trying to hide behind an annoyed looking Juliet.

"Care to share, why you haven't told us that you're related to one of the greatest wand makers of all time?" Aberforth's voice echoed through an abandoned classroom on the third floor."I didn't think that it mattered." I said through clenched teeth, as I sat down on a dusty old table.
"You didn't think that the fact that you're related to someone who is part of the sacred twenty-eight was worth mentioning?!" Aberforth had been passing back and forth for the past five minutes- running his fingers through his short blonde hair as he muttered something to himself while sending annoyed glances at me every time he turned."Why is he acting as if I just told him that he's adopted?" I whispered to- a now next to me sitting Daniel.
"You know about the Malfoy family right? Their reputation might not be as good as it was once- no, scratch that, they've never had a good reputation even before being associated with he-who-must-not-be-named, bu-"
Daniel and I looked up to a muttering Aberforth, who had begun to rummage through his school bag, throwing written parchments and books aside rather loudly, as he continued to look for something."Anyway..." Daniel continued as the two of us sent a confused glance at Aberforth.
"Apparently his late mother- who was Lucius Malfoys distant cousin or something in those lines, ran off with this Mayel guy. Now, according to what I've heard, he's fifteenth in line to the throne in the Muggle world, but that also means that he's either Muggle born, or a half blood- and you know how some purebloods views are regarding blood impurity, so you can guess what Scorpius dear grandparents did when those two eloped. So he has this slight obsession with the sacred twenty-eight."
Daniel whispered back at me, as Aberforth accidentally cut his finger with the tip of a quill, and let out a- rather nasty, string of cuss words."So what? They burned his mother's name from the family tree or something?" I asked Daniel as Aberforth let out an euphoric yelp, and proceeded to walk over to us with a piece of parchment and a quill in hand- a smug smile plastered onto his face.
What have I brought upon myself?
Cordelia
Strangely enough, last week's anger did not ebb away as I thought it would, only setting me into a fit of fury every time I thought, saw or heard of Aileen.
Juliet wholeheartedly agreed on my indignance on Aileen's behaviour to me while Rosaline, always the neutralist, suggested that I may have expressed my anger towards him a little too harshly.
"He wouldn't have been so mad at you if you haven't done something," Rosaline told me in Potions the next day after Aileen's birthday.
"But what did I do? I have no idea what I've done, and he won't tell me! After all I've done for him, and I've forgiven him for shaming me, but he's acting like I've committed the most unforgivable crime ever! What does he expect me to do, beg him for forgiveness until he tells me so I can beg him for more forgiveness? Hell to the no! He can shove it up his-"
"I do not believe your grudges belong in this class, Ms Cordelia" Professor Nova coolly reprimanded me, jolting me out of my rising rage. I realised with mortification that she had called at least half of the classes attention to me with the scolding of the perfect student. After apologising profoundly, I drew my attention to my roots and started choping them up with unnecessary vengeance until they were nothing more then mush.

"You're related to Ollivander?"
Daniel's cry of surprise caught our attention as we entered the library.
I immediately tried to turn away but Rosaline caught me by the arm.
"He's related to Mr. Ollivander? I didn't know he even had relatives..." She said with curiosity.
"I already knew that. He told me on the train. Come on, let's go somewhere else," I told her, my mood souring up considerably since Aileen's presence was registered.
"Oh crud," I hissed and attempted to vanish behind Juliet, who let out an annoyed yelp of pain as I trampled on her foot.Aileen and his posse was heading our way to the exit, Aileen looking as cheerful as me.
I attempted to casually look at the window as the Ravenclaws passed by, the tension sparking up between us as they passed. I did not miss the look that Daniel gave an awkward looking Rosaline.
"Oi! Seriously Cordelia, what was that for?" Grumbled Juliet as we pulled out a chair each.
"Sorry...it's really awkward between him and I," I muttered while glancing at Rosaline, who was staring with a conflicted expression on her face where Daniel During was.
"You do know, Rose, that you don't have to say no to him just because of me." I told her.
"Oh no it's not that, it's just that...I don't know him. And I have noticed him staring at me a few times in class and that's sort of creepy." Rosaline said briskly, taking out her books as if the matter was closed.
"It's just a dance. Dance with him once then if you don't like him, then Cordelia, since she's a single Pringle, can pretend she's dying and there's your excuse not to be with him for the night," Juliet finished with a self satisfied smirk at her cleverness.
"Hey. Why do I have to be the one dying?" I asked with fake annoyance.
"Cause you suck at lying and will probably burst out laughing if you were the one to tell During."
"True that."
"That's right-you're not going with Aileen anymore," Rosaline said suddenly.
"Yeah. I don't even know if I want to go to the dance," I replied, suddenly feeling for that necklace vial of hair in my bag.I had, in a fit of fury, wrenched the blasted thing of my neck, intending to smash it upon the floor but was held back by a little voice in my head saying that was going too far.
So it ended up on the front pocket of my bag, safe, despite my anger towards its owner's son."You have to! Rosaline's going with During and I'll be alone, unless During is a prat then I can rescue Rose, but you've got to come to help keep an eye on her or be my witness if I have to resort to murder..."
"Fine, fine. Don't worry I'll be there," I said reassuringly, a smile twitching on my face.
