I haven't seen you for about three years
I can't imagine how beautiful you are now
I always loved your pigtail that you wore to school everyday
You laughed and smiled like nothing was wrong
You always loved to show me how fast you could go across the monkey bars
You brought me pink lollipops with swirlies and fairy dust
Each day I had to wipe your messy mouth after lunch
Each day I rebraided your hair like your momma did
Each day I held your tiny hand as we walked out of school
Whenever you fell I picked you up and kissed your skinned knee
Whenever you cried I wiped your tears away
Whenever you didn't have a lunch I gave you mine
I hope one day you realize I loved you more than your brother
I took care of you like you were my sister
Not because I wanted him to be nicer

And he hated me
