"Could I have some fries?"
"Sure bro how many do you want?"
"Just a few, I don't want to take the other kids food portions."
"Hey kid what's your name?"
"Tyler."
"Tyler, trust me, I have enough food to feed all of you guys. When was the last time you ate a real meal?"
"12 days ago. My little sister hasn't eaten in four days."
"Look, just between me and you, this whole tray of food is now yours."
"Thanks! Do you love me?"
"Of course I do kid."
"Let's make a special handshake cause I like you."
"Ok."He ran up to me and hugged me with a cheeky smile that was missing a few teeth, quickly sprinting away to his little sister hanging with his other friends. The curly haired kid that will always be remembered in my heart.

I usually don't do authors notes, but this poem/story needed one. I recently(as in yesterday) went to Detroit to feed homeless kids and and give them Christmas presents. I met a boy name Tyler, who was probably 12, but was so skinny and uneducated that he was probably in second grade if anything. He had a little sister named Lindsey and she was about 4 or 5. This kid touched my heart cause he was the same age as me but he was so selfless. We gave him a skateboard with tons of food and other gifts and necessities. He was so happy and he kept hugging me and giving me this funny look. I will always remember him and he touched my heart. Just because someone is homeless doesn't mean they are a bad person. I love this kid and his sister with all my heart, and I love every other person out there that has needs like him. This is the conversation I had with him the second I met him, and it was like we were best friends. He stuffed fries in his dirty pockets with holes like they were gold. Curly haired boy.
