Introduction

This is the first episode of my Doctor Who fanfiction series, The Heritage Saga. This episode sort of sets up things for the rest of the series.

The seven episodes (including Christmas special, plus minisodes) takes place in a sort of AU, where the events of Trenzalore went a little differently; the Doctor saved the planet and didn't regenerate, and is still travelling with Clara as the 11th Doctor.

The Doctor and Clara rescue an orphan teenage girl by the name of Clair, and invite her to travel with them. Over the course of the series, they come to know Clair and learn about her tortured past. Clair gradually opens up to them, embracing her new life, but is still haunted by her past. As events unfold and adventures are had, Clara and the Doctor begin to fall for each other, just as they make a shocking discovery as to who Clair really is...
