Diet Inspiration
Recently I was asked to put up my daily diet routine, but I'm not quite sure I should. Every person is different so how much food I consume a day wouldn't be the same for someone else. It all depends on your height, how much food you consume a day, and how much you burn off. I don't want to leave you guys empty handed though, so here are some things I've found helpful:
-Healthy Blogs
Motivation can be found anywhere. I find vlogs on youtube and blogs on tumblr a huge inspiration :)
-Food Diary
You never really realize what you're eating until you write it down. If you notice you're not eating enough protein or you're having too much sugar, these are things to improve on. Its the little things that go a long way.
-Snacks throughout the day
And when I say snacks, I mean things like fruits, yogurt and anything healthy. You can eat as many healthy things as you like and still lose weight. I love sugar, so as a small snack I like pieces of apple, strawberries, blueberries and grapes.
If you want to know your BMI (Body Mass Index) simply type it in google. There are BMI calculators there for you to put in your weight and height and you can find out what range you are in.
Why I don't use a scale
I don't weigh myself for two reasons: one is because I can't find the scale (LOL) and another is that I find my weight doesn't define how healthy I am. I GAINED weight and I'm more toned than before, which is what I wanted all along. For me, progress is hard to see because I've always been "Skinny fat." Instead of judging my reflection or the number above my toes, I look for other ways to keep track of my progress like journals, my energy levels throughout the day, and my mile time. Its much more rewarding in my opinion.
Mile Time
I think last time I posted my mile time went down? Well, we did our last mile of the year (last mile of my high school career xD) and I beat my best time! Originally at the start of the year I got 8:33, which was my best time. At the end of the year I got 8:25 :D
I've also done another 5k called the glow in the dark dance party I think LOL and I ran practically the whole thing! Its a huge accomplishment from my first 5k which I ran only one mile and walked the rest :)
This month's setback
This past month has also been a stressful one for me. I had senior breakfast, prom, graduation, graduation parties, my own party and college orientation. It was also father's day and my aunt's birthday so I've been eating cake like crazy. I think I'm at the point of saying, "I'm already going to eat bad. I'll get on track tomorrow" but I have to stop using excuses!
To help me out, I'm going to make a fitness journal, which hopefully I'll be able to take pictures of and share with you all :) I really want to get fit this summer and not end up with the freshman 15 T-T
Motivation of the Month
There's a vlog on youtube I found made by LAURAmustLOSEWEIGHT. If you look at her before and after videos she's gone so far. The lean muscles she gained aren't from just diet change. Remember that weights are also good for woman and can help you acheive the goals food can't always get you.
