Niall kept his eyes glued firmly shut. He felt the force of the train crash into Liam and was thrown out of the train, landing in great agony.
He must have broken his legs and maybe even his ribs, but this was nothing in compare to the rock of sadness weighing Niall down. He tried to get up, but the effort was too much and he blacked out.

When Niall woke, he found himself in a hospital bed surrounded by Harry, Louis and Zayn. They forced a smile, they obviously had been told not to upset Niall any further but Niall could see their eyes were red from crying.
"Are you ok?" Asked Harry, he seemed concerned but immediately regretted the question. Louis whacked him on the back of the head and Niall heard him mutter, "he's in hospital you prat. "
"Liam..." Said Niall suddenly. They shook their heads sadly. "What happened?" Sighed Niall in despair.
"It was all recorded live, they hacked into every channel and put it everywhere. By the time authorities tracked down the signal-" Louis' voice cracked. "It was too late." Niall fought back tears and after what felt like a lifetime of silence, he looked back up.
"Go." Whispered Niall. Zayn frowned "But-"
"Get out!" Cried Niall, almost angrily. The last thing he wanted to do was talk to people. He had lost a friend, a brother, a love. He wanted to mourn alone, friends are great for cracking jokes but that's the last thing you need at a time like this.
Whilst Niall recovered in hospital, he refused to have any more visitors. Although his injuries had subsided, his heart was still torn into smithereens.

"Niall, looks like you're all fit to go. You'll have a check up once a fortnight to see how you are coping, and try not to put yourself under too much strain, but other than that everything should be back to normal." Said the nurse as she handed Niall a sheet of upcoming check up dates. Niall nodded and stood up to leave.
"I know that this has been tough for you. But you need to move on and forwards." Said the nurse quietly. Niall did not respond.
