"I really just want to be done already." Devontae told me as he put his homework away.

"Babe you complain too much. Being here isn't just about football. You have to do the work too." I told him as I finished painting my fingernails.

"Says the one who finished all their homework yesterday and didn't get more today." He said and laid next to me.

"I did get more. I just know how to manage my time better than you." I said and shrugged.

"You're not going to do it?" He asked, sounding surprised.

"I'm going to do it tomorrow morning. I don't have class tomorrow. Like I said, I manage my time." I said.

"Then I guess I'll have to learn from the best." He said and smiled before kissing me.

"Of course." I said and smiled.

"Is that your phone vibrating?"

"I don't think so. Where is my phone?"

"Here."

"It is. My mom has called me three times and my dad has called twice. That's weird."

"Well call them back."

"I am."

I called my mom but she didn't answer so I called my dad. He answered after my second time calling.

"Milly I called-"

"I'm sorry. I didn't know where my phone was. What's going on?" I asked as I put the phone between my shoulder and ear.

"Cameron passed out in the shower and-"

"What? She what?" I asked as I grabbed the phone and held it to my ear.

"She passed out. I just wanted to let you know that maybe you should come up here since you don't have class tomorrow." He said.

"What's going on? Is she okay or what?" I asked as I put on my shoes and grabbed my keys.

"Well she has a head injury.. They're doing scans now. She's going to need stitches."

"Is she okay?"

"We haven't heard how bad the damage is yet."

"What about why she passed out? Do you at least know that?"

"Something to do with her blood not flowing correctly and getting to where it needs to be. It's a lot to explain but let me know when you're coming up here, okay?"

"Okay.."

I hung up and took a deep breath before getting ready to leave Devontae's dorm.

"What's going on? Is it your sister?" He asked.

"Yeah. She's in the hospital. I'm going to head up there. I'll call you on my way back." I said and kissed him before leaving.

I packed some clothes before leaving. All I could think about was if I'm going to be able to keep it together. She was just fine. She was getting into the hang of things and now this happens.. What's next?

"Hey sweetie." My dad said and hugged me tight.

"Hey.." I whispered. Our hug lasted longer than usual and that let me know he was hurting.

"Come on." He said and took a deep breath before leading me into Cam's room.

Once I saw her, I froze. She didn't look like my sister. She looked defeated and that happiness that used to be in her looked dead. Her eyes looked darker than usual and that just made that hint of I had disappear.
